The year kicked off with allegations that Diamond Platnumz’s second in command Harmonize had ditched the music giant.

The rumor started after Harmonize’s name was left out of the 2019 Wasafi Festival’s entertainers list.

Diamond at the time claimed that the reason Harmonize missed on the list was because he was fully booked.

When Harmonize also missed the US tour with Diamond, the Wasafi C.E.O claimed he had missed his visa.

“Wakati mwingine mambo ya visa yanatokea, ndio hivyo, tukipata tunaenda tukikosa sawa tu. Lakini tunaamini show zinazofuata kila dancers wangu watatakiwa kuwepo naye atakuwepo,” said Diamond

Months later it became public that Harmonize had indeed ditched the record label and formed his own label under the tag Konde gang.

The move brought bad blood between the two former allies with Diamond going out to bad mouth Harmonize at every chance he gets.

And just before the dust settled on Harmonize’s story, news broke that Rayvanny may also be considering a move.

Vannyboy however came out to rubbish the allegations saying that it is still early for him to exit the label.

At the time he said working under WCB Wasafi has made him a star, in a span of three years and he trusts their leadership skills and the way the handle things.

Two months later it has emerged that Vannyboy may infact be having issues with the management at Wasafi records.

According to word doing rounds, Rayvanny has been having issues with how Wasafi Festival is planned and executed.

Vannyboy is allegedly not happy with the fact that the Wasafi Festival has never been hosted at his hometown in Mbea despite the fact that the Caravan has been moving around the country and at one point even being hosted in Kenya.

Lavalava also hinted that he may hand in his resignation at Wasafi records when the time is right.

Lava Lava recently told journalists that he’s already working on leaving the label to start his own called Bite Gang which will focus on nurturing young talent.

During Wasafi Festival in Moshi, Lava Lava revealed that Bite Gang will also be launching their own studio soon.

The Bite Gang has already signed its own DJs and producers, and the singer says that he will sign new artists after Bite Gang studio is fully stabilized.

So is Diamond really losing his big three?

In 2018, singer Rich Mavoko ditched the label saying he felt the music power house was doing very little to promote his career.

The exit was so nasty that the singer and his former boss Diamond embroiled in a nasty back and forth forcing Tanzania Music Regulatory Board BASATA, to intervene.

Rich Mavoko reached out to Basata to report misgivings with his contract and wanted to be advised on how he can opt out without being taken to court for breach of contract.

Mavoko is said to have complained of constant pressure from the label to release several songs without taking a break. He also claimed his contract with Wasafi was exploitative and thus hurting him.

So is this the downfall of the much hyped Wasafai records? Time will tell

Churchill show comedian JB Masanduku is now pleading with his ex-wife Tina Kagia to give him a chance at co-parenting.

During a recent interview, the comedian requested for a meeting with his estranged wife to iron out their issues.

“Tina, first and foremost I hope you are well and doing fine. I beseech you that we have a sit-down and we talk about how I would probably see the kids. It will not interfere with someone you or I am seeing but I think it is integral for them to know their father and hear part of my story.” he said

The one time celebrity couple has been in the media pointing fingers at each other since they parted ways almost three years back.

The radio queen had accused Masanduku of abandoning their kids, saying that he last saw them at the beginning of 2017.

On his part the comedian had accused his ex-wife of trash talking him when she met his soon to be wife Jackie Karanja.

Tanzanian singer Rayvanny seems to be starting his month well after clenching the Youtube creators’ award.

The bongo star took to social media to reveal that he has reached a million subscribers on his Youtube channel at the same time thanking his fans.

The singer shared a short clip captioning it “1M subscribers.”

Wasafi records boss diamond also received his award after hitting the million mark and currently enjoys a following that doubles the million mark.

This comes barely three months after fellow bongo star Harmonize also received the Youtube gold plaque after reaching a million subscribers.

YouTube has four levels of awards for channels in terms of subscriber achievement. The first and highest award is the Diamond Play Button for channels with 10,000,000 subscribers. The second highest one is the Gold Play Button for channels with 1,000,000 subscribers. The third highest is the Silver Play Button for channels with 100,000 subscribers. Finally the lowest level of award, the Ruby Play Button for channels with 50,000 subscribers.

Citizen TV has closed the curtains on its popular TV show Machachari after the station aired it for 13 years.

According to station’s production manager, the show’s cast have outgrown their character and currently lacked good viewership.

The Production Manager, Stanley Ngige said the show will air it’s last episode on Friday after fans mounted pressure over the age of the cast.

He also revealed that the station will replace Machachari with a new show dubbed ‘Johari’ which will have the same target audience as Machachari.

“The story came to an end. This Friday is the grand finale. It didn’t evolve to remain relevant to the target audience, and the best we could do is develop the story to come to an end so that we can start a new show  (‘Johari’) for the same target audience,” Ngige said

Nginge added that the cast of Machachari have grown up and are focusing on other projects which will also  broadcast under the media house’s ‘Viusasa’

“Tyler Mbaya, popularly known as Baha, has grown up to be a producer of his own content. Some of the girls who featured on the show have already recorded music albums, which shall be given airplay on Viusasa. Seeing them grow up and become professionals and attract advertisements for TV was amazing.” he said

The station has made several changes, and most of the shows, the likes of ‘Inspekta Mwala’ and ‘Papa Shirandula’ that used to air from 7.30pm every day will now air from 6.30pm.

Ghetto Radio’s Celina Njoki popularly known as Browngyal is a lady that has had a journey that some may term as ‘the end of the road’

She joined Ghetto Radio back in 2013 hosting Jamrock Doba alongside Dj Musti but her radio journey was halted by a rare autoimmune disorder that forced her to spend two years in and out of hospital.

Acquired hemophilia (AH) is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by bleeding that occurs in patients with a personal and family history negative for hemorrhages. Autoimmune disorders occur when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells or tissue.

After doctors administered a clotting factor that helped her blood clot she was much better but doctors subjected her to mandatory rest but being her, she felt like she was missing out on a lot.

Celina kept on pestering her boss to get back to work but he still felt that she needed more rest.

It actually took a letter from her doctor, giving her a clean bill of health to start her new journey on radio.

In October 2018, as Ghetto Radio re-introduced Niaje Niaje after a short hiatus, Celina took up the role as the show’s host.

One year down the line she says her journey is more than amazing and she is forever grateful to her bosses for giving her the chance.

“Ghetto Radio took care of me thought the period I was unwell. I was stressed after leaving the hospital and really felt I needed to get back to work. One year later thank God here I am and it has been an amazing journey of self-growth and self-adjusting especially to join the hustle of Nairobians rushing to work in the morning because I was so used to working at night.” she said

To mark one year back on air, Celina has decided to give back to the community by visiting the Nairobi Children’s remand- Kabete.

She says the move was inspired by her fans who surprised her with cake on her birthday and asked her to organize a meet and greet.

“I rarely celebrate my birthday because I lost my child on the same day, but this year was special because my fans decided to surprise me at the studio with a cake. They also asked for a meet and greet and that’s how I settled on the Children’s remand because it will also give my fans a chance to give back to the community.” she added

The visit to the Nairobi Children’s remand will be this Saturday 5^th October and the vocal presenter says she expects the day to be exciting for the kids whom she says most people have forgotten about.

The event which will see the children at the remand treated to a cake cutting courtesy of Pepinos Pizza will also have performances from gospel stars Guardian Angel and Weezdom.

There was rumors that Tanasha had given birth sometime in mid-September but turns out it was all a hoax.

The couple welcomed their child on Wednesday October 2^nd 2019 at 1:28pm

Coincidentally Tanasha’s son arrived on his father’s birthday.

Following the baby’s arrival, Tanasha took to her  Insta-stories to reveal that she spent 17 hours in labor.

“17 hours of labor at 42 weeks, natural birth, but it was all worth it. God is good, I’m now a mom to a healthy beautiful baby boy who shares a birthday with my love (Diamond). Thank You lord,” shared Tanasha

Diamond also announced his son’s arrival by sharing a photo holding the new-born

“Happy Birthday to Us.” he captioned the photo.

The baby’s arrival comes just hours after the Tanzanian government responded to Diamond’s ex-lover Zari Hassan after she claimed their kids are South African.

According to ministry spokesman Ally Mtanda, Diamond’s kids Tiffa Dangote and Prince Nillan are Tanzanian citizens despite Zari Hassan’s recent claims that they are South African.

Speaking in an interview, the spokesman stated also they have the right to be South Africans as the law allows them to hold a dual citizenship.

“Zari said all her kids are South African, she is right because she lives there. With that said, her children become South African automatically,” the immigration department spokesman said

Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu’s surprise birthday went south after the actress collapsed moments after being surprised.

According to Tanzanian media, the party that was held at her sister’s in Mbezi Beach came to a halt after the actress fainted and wouldn’t come to after first aid.

The actress’ sister says she was then rushed to hospital where it was discovered she had low blood pressure.

‘Wema was over excited. She could not sit down, she was all over talking with her guests. It is during her rounds when she suddenly fell down and collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital where the doctors said she had low blood pressure,” said the sister

Ghetto Radio’s mid-morning show host, producer and fans on Saturday surprised children at Nairobi Children’s remand with a fun filled day

The team was celebrating one year since the return of Niaje Niaje on air one year ago.

The children at the correctional facility were treated to an amazing performance by gospel star Guardian angel and a football match.

For them, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity with most of them saying they have always felt forgotten because they never get such treats.

The team also got to interact with the children facility learning the many reasons why some of the are at the correctional center.

For one Sam (not his real name) he landed at the children’s remand after he was found ferrying his friends on a motorbike. Unknown to him, his friends had just committed an armed robbery and were being sought by the police.

He says he regrets that day because he was the one who got apprehended yet his so called friends managed to escape.

For three siblings, they were taken to the center after their mother went abroad and left them without any caregiver.

They ended up homeless and as a last resort, found themselves at the facility.

Niaje Niaje fans managed to put a smile on every child’s face with gifts that included new bedding, mattresses, sanitary towels, clothes, shoes and toiletries.

The children were also treated to a cake cutting session which for them was the peak of the day.

An unknown lady is now claiming she is pregnant for RnB singer Otile Brown and he’s been avoiding her.

According to a post shared by Otile Brown, the lady’s allegations are false and have really affected his relationship.

The ‘Baby Love’ hit maker says the lady is going round telling people that she is carrying his child and the singer has been avoiding her.

The lady has allegedly also threatened to commit suicide if the singer continues to avoid her as she is claiming.
