Barely a week after a hash tag dubbed ‘ifikiewazazi’ went viral, authorities have began their hunt for teens taking explicit photos within the public premises.
Several teenagers found themselves in trouble after they were arrested taking explicit photos in public. The teenagers are currently being held at Central Police Station.
Reports indicate that the teenagers were spotted at Nairobi’s Michuki Park taking nasty photographs and involving themselves in what is termed as ‘obscene activities.’
Police officers are said to have discovered pornographic material and contraceptives on the teenagers.
“They were performing acts that brought discomfort to the observer. We arrested those young girls and one young man, all under 18 years,” said Central police OCPD Robinson Thuku.
The hashtag that sparked outrage online last week, was meant to share the worrying trends of teens taking explicit photos in a bid to reach the parents.
