KTN news anchor Betty Kyallo has put speculation to rest after she shared how she managed to raise money to launch her own state of the art salon.

While on an interview with KTN Biashara, Betty said she took a risk and used her daughter’s savings to set up the lucrative business.

“I had a fantastic concept but the capital was not easy to come by. Capital is definitely one of the challenges for any young person who wants to start a business,” she said.

“I had my own saving, actually savings I had made for my daughter but I chose t take the risk of investing it in a business,” she said.

She went on to add that she topped the money up with a loan from a certain facility.

“The bigger chunk of the money was from a loan facility that I was not shy to get. Sometimes we do not need to pretend that we have billions of billions of shillings. Sometimes we need help,” she said.

A woman in Kisumu was on Saturday embarrassed in her clients’ presence after her lover stormed her salon in the company of goons and left with every equipment.

The man who is said to be a first time MCA,stormed the salon which sources say he was financing and took away everything.

The K-city based salon had clients when the politician showed up and quickly loaded all the machines and everything therein into a car and drove off.

The unidentified woman is reported to have begged her man but he did not heed to her pleas.

Clients were left stranded as they tried to understand the happenings with no solution.

A source close to the two says that they have been fighting over the salon’s ability to raise money.

“The two have been having fights often ever since the salon started running. The MCA did not like the idea of his wife spending the whole day at her salon and not generating any income since she is always asking him for the rent money” Revealed a source

South African rapper Nasty C is expected in the country later today ahead of the Kaya Fest  which he will headline as the main act.

Nasty C will share the stage with Kenyan artistes like The Kansoul, Rosa, Barak Jacuzzi, and newcomers, Ethic Group of the hit song “Lamba Lolo”.

The Kaya fest has been organized by The Hype Group Limited and Mwanaume Ni Effort (MNE)

Diamond Platnumz’s manager has revealed that the singer’s ex girlfriend Wema Sepetu will be among guests during his daughter’s birthday.

Diamond’s daughter Tiffah will have her third birthday party on August 17th in South Africa.

Diamond had earlier promised to gift young fans and their parents a fully paid trip to South Africa for Tiffah’s birthday party which will be broadcast live.

Speaking during the 40 days celebration of Actress Zamaradi Mketema’s son King Salah, Babu Tale disclosed that they had been impressed with the organizing committee of the event thus deciding to tag them along to Tiffah’s Birthday.

Word on the streets has it that KTN news anchors Betty Kyallo and Dennis Onsarigo have left KTN.

Onsarigo on his part will take up a role at the Taita Taveta county government as the Director of communications while Betty will be heading to K24.

Onsarigo is the fourth popular journalist to join county government to serve in communication office after former NTV reporter Kennedy Murithi serving Tharaka Nithi, former KTN reporter Carol Nderi serving Nyeri and former NTV reporter Richard Chacha serving Mombasa.

Sources say Betty Kyallo resigned from Standard Group earlier and had been serving her notice.

28 year old Kevin Ochieng’ or Kevy Jay as he is popularly known is what one would term as a jack of all trades.

Ochieng his first gospel song ‘tembea’ with producer Shankyzz and went on to do a remix of the same song with producer Teddy B.

He came to Nairobi back in 2009 hoping to land a good job but that was not the case for him forcing him to take odd jobs so he could sustain himself.

After working as a mason and then being employed as a salonist, Ochieng decided to open his own salon business and with the help of a fellow church member and a previous client he was able to raise capital to set it up.

When he is not busy braiding a client you will find him in the studio recording some of his songs which he says he writes on his own.

The young entrepreneur has sustained his Olive Green Salon based in Nairobi’s Imara Daima area for the past four years and says he does not regret the decision to set it up.

Having been raised in a not so well off family, Ochieng says he pushes himself towards success because he does not hope for an inheritance.

“My parents separated a long time ago and when we re-united with my father years later he had nothing so I have never hoped for an inheritance because there’s nothing to inherit. I know the kind of life I want for myself and that is why I’m going after it.” He said

The 28 year old has risen to the ranks of one of the best locticians and hair dresser in Embakasi.

Ochieng says he wakes up at three in the morning and prepares mandazis which he sells from four to nine in the morning then proceeds to his salon.

The young man has urged the youth not to depend fully on employment and says he hopes he will make it big in the music industry as well.

“The youth need to live a responsible life. Start small. Start following your dream early and grow with it. Don’t depend solely on employment just use it as a stepping stone to go higher.” He added

Bongo star Ali Kiba will play in this season’s Tanzania premier league following a confirmation by Coastal Union Football club.

We had earlier reported that the bongo sensation could be signed by the team but it was still in discussion at the moment.

On Wednesday, the club announced, via its social media pages, that they have acquired the artiste’s services as a professional footballer.

“Welcome to Coastal Union,” the message from the Tanga based club read in part, complete with the musician’s photo in the team’s official jersey.

However, the 31-year-old singer, songwriter, is yet to officially announce or comment on this transfer leaving speculation that this development could in fact be a marketing stunt.

Alikiba plays has previously played as a striker for local amateur sides in Dar Es salaam and is also known to be an ardent fan of record Tanzanian league champions Yanga.

The two exes to Tanzanian multi singer Diamond Platinumz booth took to social media to share their thoughts regarding the matter.

Diamond through through his manager Babu Tale revealed during the 40 days celebration of Actress Zamaradi Mketema’s son King Salah that Wema and her organizing team will all receive a fully funded trip to South Africa for the party.

While responding to a fan who informed her of the guest list Zari said she did not want them at her house.

Bongo sensation Diamond Platnumz’s sister Esma Platnumz has said that she does not know Tanzanian video vixen Hamisa Mobetto.

In an interview with Tanzania’s Sam Misago, Esma said that she does not know Hamisa, when the presenter asked her to mention one character she did not like, from her brother’s life.

Esma added that she had never attacked Hamisa Mobetto online as most people claim, because she has never mentioned her name and has never known her.

The curvy business lady added that it was only Hamisa who felt that she was being attacked but she had no time for her and they have never planned to attack her.

Wasafi records artiste Lava Lava shocked his fans in Morogoro, Tanzania after he fainted in the middle of his performance after receiving a kiss from a female fan.

According to a post on his Instagram account, Lava Lava who operates under Diamond Platnumz record Label, said he didn’t understand what transpired after the kiss.

Over the weekend singer and Starehe member of parliament Jaguar received rare guests who brought him sheep.

Wakulima Market committee presented the Starehe MP with the sheep as a sign of gratitude for fighting for them.

“Received gifts from the executive committee of Wakulima market as a sign of gratitude for fighting for their rights during a clash between the traders and city council officers that lasted for two days. Unfortunately, during this incident, I fractured my leg but I pledge to continue fighting for and supporting my constituents,” said Jaguar

Jaguar broke his leg after fighting with county officers at Marikiti Market on 11th July.

He approached the council askaris to protest against the harassment of the traders.

Traders at Muthurwa, Marikiti and Wakulima markets clashed with city county officers after traders association chairman Cyrus Kaguta was arrested.

Many a times Tanzanian celebrities have been trolled for speaking poor English.

Over the weekend Diamond’s sister Ester Platnumz was trolled for expressing herself in very poor English.

Esma took to Instagram to express how she had passed through so a lot in life but instead wrote that she has passed away.

The mother of one soon realized her error then deleted the post and wrote it afresh in Swahili.

American RnB singer Keri Hilson is in the country ahead of her concert at KICC on Friday 3rd.

According to reports doing rounds, The singer landed at the JKIA, Nairobi on Monday 30th around Mid night.

The singer is expected to perform during the Terminal Music Weekend which will take place at KICC throughout this weekend.

Keri was received at JKIA’s waiting lounge with an entourage of high-end vehicles amidst tight security.

She was received by KICC CEO Nana Gecaga, Singer Habida among others.

Keri will also visit the Keri Hilson Foundation in Kibera where she is set to do some charity work.

Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol has been forced to apologise after failing to perform at the Pan-African Dance Festival in Kigali, Rwanda.

The group disclosed that they were also looking forward to the performance but the promoters messed them up as there was an organisational issue with the promoters of the festival.

“Our flight which was arranged by the promoters was scheduled to arrive at 9:30 pm and upon landing, we were informed that the festival was to close by 10:30 pm. Knowing this we did our best to be there on time. With our band already on stage and ready for us, unfortunately, it was announced that the festival was over and our performance must be cancelled,” Said the group in a statement

Sauti Sol has been on their melanin tour for the past month having performed in Australia and Zambia so far.

Word on the street has it that Diamond Platnumz family is reluctant to attend Hamisa Mobetto’s son Dylan Naseeb’s birthday party.

According to Global TV, despite Naseeb’s birthday being on the same month as Tiffah the family is focused on attending Tiffah’s party set to take place in South Africa rather that Abdul’s first birthday.

The family has always been vocal about the fact that they never liked Mobetto who starred in Diamond’s hit song Salome.

Diamond’s sister Esma Platnumz is reported to have stressed that she cannot attend the birthday party since she has never been invited to any other ceremony.

“Hivi ushawai one kina Hamisa wanatualika kwenye issues zao hata kidogo? Hivyo hatuwezi enda hata kidogo wala hatutarajii kuenda kabisa” she was reported as saying.

A source close to the family was also reported saying they that there is no need of hiding the fact that no one is willing to accept the invite adding that their minds are already set to attending Tiffah’s birthday party.

Ghetto radio morning show presenter Nicholas Cheruiyot popularly known as King Kafu is set to kick off the third phase of his charity event.

Through his Mfungwa ni binadamu initiative, King Kafu aims at inspiring reform among prisoners in a bid to steer them from crime.

“I want to visit all prisons across the country to inspire change among prisoners especially those who are set to be released. I want them to know that there’s life away from crime. I also want them to know that someone still sees them as human.” He said

Kafu, a reformed armed robber, says he is glad his life took a different turn simply because someone believed in him.

In 2016, Kafu visited Lang’ata women’s prison to speak change and bring hope to the prisoners.

This August 25th Kafu will be visiting the Industrial area prison through his mfungwa ni binadamu initiative and is seeking your help to make the visit a success.

The presenter says he is in need of toiletry material (Detergents,toilet paper, Bar soaps, petroleum jelly) slippers, Public address systems, clothes, Water tank,shoes as well as snacks.

Kafu has been working with Ghetto Radio and musician Juliani since he started the project.

Other people who have supported the initiative include, Former member of parliament Benard Mutura and Mlango Kubwa MCA Patricia Mutheu and Pangani MCA Peter Wahinya to help give love to the Inmates.

Controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi has suffered a huge blow after social media platform Twitter suspended his account.

Nyakundi’s misfortune begun on Monday when tweeted photos of a media house boss in a compromising situation with two women.

This comes just a few weeks after twitter slashed his followers from 1.2 million to just below 700,000 when Twitter waged war on dormant accounts.

Kenyans online have reacted differently to Nyakundi’s account being suspended. Some asked twitter to reinstate the account while others asked twitter to make sure it was shut down completely.
