Gospel singer Dennis Mwangi popularly known as Papa Dennis has passed on. The singer was found dead by the roadside near Jubilee Headquarters in Pangani.

His death was confirmed by fellow gospel singer Daddy Owen.

“He was found dead on the roadside near the Jubilee Party headquarters,” he said

It is not yet clear whether the singer was knocked down or fell from a tall building in the area.

The 2018 AFRIMMA best male artiste winner was a renown gospel star and music producer who also worked with the likes of Mr. Flavour and Tanzania’s Ray C.

Following the news of his death, netizens have trooped across social media platforms to share their condolence messages.

Diamond Platnumz was forced to cancel his show in Guinea,  Conakry after the venue became too small for the crowd.

Through a post on social media, the Bongo sensation revealed that he had to cancel his performance after those who got tickets were unable to get into the venue.

Diamond revealed that they had to shift the event’s venue and move it to the next day after the venue posed a possible threat to his fans.

Simon Mwangi, the twin brother of fallen gospel singer Papa Dennis has come out to reveal that he was still alive when they found him.

Dennis Mwangi alias Papa Dennis took the final bow on Friday February 7^th  under mysterious circumstances along Pangani area.

According to his brother who had accompanied him for a late night studio session at Nairobi Records, owned by legendary producer Mash Mjukuu he noticed his brother’s absence after some time.

He narrated how calls to the singers phone went unanswered before they were told that he may have fallen from the building.

“The studio manager Luva called the producer and told him that he had been informed by security guards manning Kirima building that the body of a youthful man resembling Papa Dennis had been found lying on a ground near the building. We rushed out. The caretaker told us that he had heard a person thud against the ground from the upper floors. We rushed out. The caretaker told us that he had heard a person thud against the ground from the upper floors¨ Papa´s twin brother added.” he said

He added that they tried to flag down vehicles to take his brother to the hospital but none could stop.

“We confirmed that the victim was Papa Dennis, my brother. He was still alive at the time. We called different ambulance services, but they took long to respond. We flagged down an ambulance that was driving past the scene, but it did not stop. Another drove past the area, and it stopped. The medics examined Papa Dennis and told me: Your brother is dead, we are sorry.” he added

Fallen gospel singer Dennis Mwangi alias Papa Dennis had been living on the low months before his death.

According the singer’s friends the singer’s lavish life had taken a massive landslide plunging him into sudden poverty.

It is alleged that he hit rock bottom after leaving the Maliza umaskini record label owned by business mogul Sadat Muhindi sometime in 2019.

According to fellow gospel artiste Daddy Owen, Dennis had battled depression for some time.

“This industry we are in can end up changing who you are because at some point, it pushes you to be who you are not. You start doing things to satisfy your fans. Papa started struggling after leaving Maliza Umaskini, which left him depressed. In most cases, we hear stories of people who were good before fame, but when they gained the stardom status, they became different people. What I know is that people are different. Some people cannot stand the pressure. Very few people can understand, handle and come out of the pressure strong.” said Owen

According to close sources, his girlfriend Martha Wanjer, a former actress,  had also called friends on several occasions on how the singer had been complaining of depression.

The actress also recently revealed that she spoke to the artiste on the fateful day.

“We talk every day and I communicated with Papa even in that fateful night and I remember him telling me he was seeing things and people wanting to kill him. He always came through in so many ways and wanted me to be great. Papa was a nice person and it is still haunting me that I did not give him the chance to open up to me on what was troubling him. I never took him seriously when he said we needed to meet.” she said

Upcoming artiste Red Pen who was Dennis’ former roommate also revealed that the singer could not even afford to buy food.

“I used to live with Papa Dennis in the same house. We Stayed in Komarock for about two years before I moved out, Papa Dennis was facing several problems. He had difficulties paying rent for the house he was living in with his twin brother. Every time he called me in recent times, he would ask for money to go buy food.” he said

Tanzanian singer Ommy Dimpoz has been forced to clear the air about his relationship with controversial singer Akothee.

A few weeks ago, a video surfaced online showing the two enjoying a moment in the pool.

In the said video, Akothee was seen twerking for Ommy before capping his head between her legs.

Following the video’s release online, Ommy says he has been receiving many direct messages from people who accused him of sleeping with Akothee.

The Tanzanian crooner now says that the video was taken sometime in December after they bumped into each other at a party in Watamu.

Buju Banton who is in Africa for the first time, has left his Kenyan fans waiting since December 31^st when he was first scheduled to perform in the country.

Upon arrival, Buju said he happy to be in the country terming Africa as ‘home’

After waiting for Jamaican reggae sensation Mark Anthony Myrie polpularly known as Buju Banton, Kenyan reggae lovers finally got their wish to watch the legend perform last Saturday.

Buju jetted into the country on Thursday night ahead of the Saturday concert and even had a chance to visit a childrens home and Maasai Market before the concert.

On Saturday,  a huge crowd turned up at the KICC to watch the Gargamel pelt some of his legendary hits of all time.

Buju Banton alongside his enigmatic 10-piece Shiloh Band performed for close to four hours from around mid night to the wee hours of Sunday morning.

The opening acts for the night were a mixture of veteran reggae deejays and MCs. like DJ Double,Trouble, DJs Kace, Selector Technix and ZJ Heno with reggae crooner Lavosti and Fyah Mummah Jahmby Koikai making her first major live appearance since returning to the country following a year long treatment in the United States.

Songstress Nadia Mukami has opened up on how she was mistreated at the Jamboree concert that went down at Uhuru Gardens on Valentines day.

Nadia took to social media to narrate how her crew was mishandled at the event that was headlined by international star Kizz Daniel.

According to the singer, the organisers had not properly planned on where to set them up resulting to a lot of back and forth.

First of all, I wanna say thank you for making me part of this that means you see the work we put it but allow me to point out some challenges we experienced tonight before I set my feet on stage. This is just a sober and mature realization, I mean we all disagree to agree,First of all when we got to the venue with my whole team, the bookings manager, as usual, went to check in with the security team I was left in the car with my dancers, official DJ, Videographer and the Content Manager. We then realised there was a commotion and I told the Content manager to go check,Later, the content manager asked for my security to be taken to my tent at the backstage and one of the guys was really rude and very hesitant.After a couple struggles one of few good security guys who is a fan agreed to take me to a tent only to be told when we got there; ‘Hii tent ni ya msanii X (allow me to reserve the name) na ile next ni ya International artists. You and your Content Manager kaeni hapa tutawapeleka kwa tent ya ‘LOCAL ARTISTS’ ( Kenyan artists) hapo kwa VVIP. That really hit me and the Content Manager told the security guy: Hatuendi mahali then he instructed me nisisonge!” she said

The singer went on to narrate how after her performance she came back to find all her belonging had been moved to a different location.

We later got on stage (personally my energy levels were already low plus my team was just bored and feeling like we are just nobodies in our own country! We got on stage and killed it as usual. Coming back from stage, our sweaters and jumpers had already been moved to the ‘local artist’s tent’, and our drinks; I mean we need water after the performance, was nowhere to be seen! am not against any ‘international artist’ having high-end care but please let the treatment be fair also to us ‘Local artists’ We work very hard to represent our fans and our country and I would request we get a little bit of respect. Just humble feedback and suggestion!” she added

Gospel singer Emmanuel King popularly known as Masterpiece King has called out EMB boss and singer Kevin Bahati.

In a video that has since gone viral, Masterpiece said the EMB boss ill hearted and went on to term Bahati’s record label a ‘Hotel’

Masterpiece was in the company of his friends when one  asked what he thought of Bahati’s new song and Masterpiece went on to pretend that he doesn’t know who Bahati was.

“Ati umesema hupendi hii song ya Bahati? Huyu msanii ako gospel nusu,” asked the friend to which Masterpiece responded with  “Huyo ndio nani?… Huyo ni ibilisi ako na roho chafu kama duster,” he said

The friend further poked what Masterpiece thinks of EMB records.
