Kenyan Musician Krispah has finally responded after YouTube pulled down his hit song Ndovu Ni Kuu.
The musician says that, the song was pulled down after Kenyatta University Management claimed that it has a negative impact on the school contrary to claims of copyright issues.
“Mtoto wangu akiitwa KU nakataa, hakuna masomo KU nimekataa, unapelak mtoto first year introduction baada ya wiki mbili ashajua reproduction,” read some of the lines in the song.
According to Krispah a person claiming to be the Communication Director of the University had also asked him to perform during their graduation to compensate for the damage.
“On Friday someone reached out to me a guy named Koinange Mashua who claimed to the Director of Communication Kenyatta University, the guy claimed that our song has a negative impact on their school brand. The guy also said that they talked to the University Vice Chair and they wanted him to perform during the school graduation ceremony to compensate for the damage done,” said Krispah.
The song had already garnered 3.5 Million views on YouTube by the time it was being pulled down.
According to the artist, the University had allegedly lost about 40 percent of its intake after the song was released.

YouTube however claims that it pulled down the song over copyright issues.
A person called Dexta Briyanka claimed that the artist stole his beats.
Krispah has however cautioned people against misusing YouTube tools to bring down artists who are working hard.
“People who misuse YouTube tools to bring down artists you should know that artists are doing business and we are out here in businesses and spending our hard earned money to put out our brands,” he added.
The song ‘Ndovu ni Kuu’ was released this year and it featured artists like Khaligraph Jones and Boutross.
