How Nviiri went from Camera operator to Top Kenyan Artist

Nviiri the story teller has always been in the entertainment scenes but was never a house hold name until 2019.

The singer who recently dropped his Lesotho song worked with Souti Sol behind the scenes for years before the band realized that he had a hidden talent.

For the first time, Sauti Sol’s Bien has revealed how the dreadlocked singer came to be a Sol generation signee.

According to Bien, he had no clue that this behind the scenes camera operator had other talents until he found him (Nviiri) playing the guitar.

“Siku moja nilikuwa na guitar tu kwa hao Nviiri akachukua guitar akaanza kucheza nikamwambia usiwahi rudi na camera hapa tena. He’s so uniquely talented,” said Bien.

According to Fancy fingers also affirmed that he had no clue Nviiri could sing.

“We’ve known Nviiri for many years he used to shoot behind the Scenes for us and we didn’t know he could sing,” said Polycarp.

Bien also narrated how Nviiri wrote Sauti Sol’s hit song Melanin which they featured Nigerian singer Patoranking, narrating that they were just chilling when the Sol Generation singer started singing and he liked the song.

At the time, Patoranking was at Polycarp’s house and they pitched the song idea to him and that is how Melanin was born.
