Veteran rapper Juliani has ventured into writing and has documented his spiritual life in his first ever book.
The rapper took to social media to announce the release of his book on Thursday.
The book titled “The Street is my Pulpit-Hip hop and Christianity in Kenya” documents his rise to Christianity and how he balances career and his day to day life.
“We all have our first of something.
Mine as a musician, i can remember the first time i recorded a song. I can smell and see the studio and even feel the atmosphere in the room then.
My first, when i heard my song on radio it was on metro fm then played by Dan oloo. I couldn’t sleep that night.
My First, when i got a call from UK @emmanueljal signed me to his label Gatwitch record. My first, when i played a concert and i could feel the venue well appreciative of my talent.
My first, when i saw my face on TV and i could walk my neighbourhood, chest out with slippers on.My first, when i a saw my face on a billboard.My first, when i filled out a concert with 5000 people.My first, when i signed a deal with a corporate and took my first flight.I can go on and on but today i will introduce you to a first book that was about my music & its perspective in the social space.” He said
The book is a wide look at christianity in Kenya through the eyes of Prof. Mwenda ntarangwi (Commission Secretary & CEO
Commission for University Education) and is guided by Juliani’s lyrics and songs over the years.
Currently it is retailing at kes 2800 and so far only 20 copies are available.
