Mugithi Fans Mourn Mighty Salim

Mugithi fans are yet to come to terms with the demise of renowned Mugithi Singer and Guitarist Timothy Njuguna also known as Mighty Salim.

According to the family the Singer succumbed to kidney failure on Sunday a day after hosting the 5th anniversary celebration in honour of late brother Salim Junior who died in 2016.

The Mugithi Maestro breathed his last in the evening. His death was confirmed by his sister Sarafina, whom he had mentored into the music industry.

“There are no goodbyes for us,Wherever you are,you will always be in my heart. Rest well my brother Njuguna”Wrote Sarafina on her social media platforms.

Mighty Salim who hails from Subukia in Nakuru County has been ailing in recent past.

He was diagnosed with diabetes in 2003 a condition he claimed affected his voice.

In 2019 he opened up about battling Kidney failure,this came at a time Kenyans were speculating on his health.

Reports also emerged at the time that the Singer was in I.C.U something he vehemently denied.

He however revealed being sidelined at his hour of need by friends and politicians whom he sang for during rallies.

High flying Gikuyu Benga artist cum cop Samidoh who also hails from Subukia in Nakuru County mourned the Singer.

“Agood heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven. You will stay in history of Mugithi forever. Thank you for all the pleasure you gave us. To Salim’s family, may our Lord bring you and your family the much needed peace during this sad time,”Wrote Samidoh.

Mighty Salim will be best remembered for hits like Kana Gakwa”My Child”, Jira ndukadigari”Tell me you won’t leave me ” and Wiku Wiku.

Popular Churchill Show Comedian Oliver Otieno Odhiambo popularly known as YY has narrated his journey to Stardom.

YY who spoke on Churchill Show on Sunday during the Journey Series edition stated how he mastered courage and heeded to a call by Big Ted to have someone from the audience to entertain the crowd when a technical hitch was being sorted out.

.”I had already been filtered out of the show and was seated in the audience when Big Ted the then event MC ushered the host Churchill for the show to commence,All of a sudden the microphone went off and technicians were hurriedly trying to fix the problem.Big Ted then requested for a volunteer from the audience who believed he could crack jokes  to pass time as the hitch was being sorted out,” said YY.

At the time, the comedian was part of The Kenyatta University Traveling Theater which also had another Comedian John  Desagu.

YY says that Desagu had encouraged him to try out for a slot on the widely followed comic shows

The Comedian who does not drink says that he witnessed violence meted on his mother by his late father who was an alcoholic.

He is encouraging young people to stop being jealous and hating other people’s success stories.

Diamond Platnumz alleged baby mama stranded in Likoni – VIDEO

An Eldoret woman who claims to have been impregnated by Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz is stranded in Likoni.

The woman has been stranded at Likoni police station for the last four days after efforts to reach Diamond failed.

The alleged baby mama claims that she has tried to get in touch with the ‘waah’ singer, and even gone as far as filing a court case at Kisutu in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

“When we got to the court in Kisutu, Diamond was unreachable, so they took me to the Kenyan embassy in Tanzania. Because Diamond was unreachable, they decided to send me back home and said I will be updated in case anything comes up,” she said.

She says she has not received any update and is determined to find the artist so that he can help in the child’s upbringing.

Congolese Singer Koffi Olomide In Tanzania For Another Collabo After WAAAH

Koffi was welcomed  in Dar es Salam by Nandy and her team where they accorded the  Rhumba monster a lavish  reception with high end cars.

According to Koffi the project is big and his fans should expect more.

‘‘Am happy to be here we need to do a video for Africa..Nandy  is special because she sings very well I appreciate quality, good music, good looks and beautiful daughters too,’’ Koffie said.

Nandy on the other hand has praised the Congolese artiste describing him as best talent in the whole Africa to work with.

The woman who has been facing ridicule and backlash could not hide her joy when she met the ‘Uno’ hit maker.

Singer  Willy Paul has fired at his arch rival Bahati for dipping his nose in the affairs of Diamond Platinumz and his Kenyan Baby Mama Tanasha Donna.

Bahati yesterday criticised Diamond for letting Tannasha go after their sensual performance over the weekend.

An agitated Poze had fired back telling Bahati he had suffered memory loss by comparing him to  Weezdom-Bahati’s manager at EMB studios.

Padi Wubonn narrates falling from grace to grass

The King of Parrody Padi Wubonn has given a heart wrenching story of how his life suddenly fell from grace to grass when he was a child.

Speaking during a YouTube interview with Comedian Jalang’o Padi disclosed being brought up in a well off family and was a pampered kid since he was the last born in his family.

“My father was a District Commissioner in Siaya,I would be dropped and picked from school in a landrover ,”he said.

All this came to a sudden halt when his father died while he was in class seven,his mother had also passed away three years ago.

“I saw all the properties dissappear,the only items i inherited from my father were sleeping gowns and a couple of ties” Said Padi.

He had to move in with an aunt who saw him through High School.

He harbored hate and bitterness and it’s through making his peers laugh while at high school in Ramba Boys that he started his healing process.

Padi later on moved to the city where he juggled music and carpentry,things started opening up when he landed a role on Inspekta Mwala and did several episodes withthem.

He was on a winning trajectory and even faired well during The Tusker Project Fame Talent Search,he had survived upto 30 of the finest acts.

He was then linked up with Kajairo who liked him from the word go and started skit writing and directing  their productions.

Padi credits himself as part of the crew that prepared ‘Mali’ a local soap opera.

He became a formidable part of Kajairo’s team doing pranks and music parodies.

Padi is greatful to Kajairo for mentoring him into the Star he has become.

Producer Magix Enga Accused Of Conning Upcoming Artists

Producer Magix Enga has been accused of allegedly stealing a song from upcoming artists from Kibra.

According to the artists claim that they paid Ksh. 20,000 for the production of a song that allegedly ended up being stolen by Magix.

The artists claim that they went to an extent of borowing money from friends in a bid to raise the they used to produce their music.

“Tuliomba pesa kwa mabeste ata mmoja wetu akauza simu yake ndio tupate iyo pesa”They said angrily.

They claim that Magix’s driver also extorted Ksh. 2,000 from them when he went to pick them.

.”Walikuwa na Ex Ray wakisema vile wamesomea karate,mi nawaambia tukipatana ni mangumi na mateke” said the agitated artists.

Netizens were quick in following the drama and joined in support of the youngsters.

Wasafi Presenter Fires at Diamond over beef with Harmonize

Wasafi Presenter  Lil Ommy has fired at his Boss Diamond Platinumz over his unending beef with Harmonize.

Lil Ommy has described the unending beef that Diaomnd has with Harmonize and Rich Mavoko as shameful and is hindering the growth of the Bongo Flava Sound.

The beef between Diamond and the two artists has spiralled to the use of lyrics in songs on one another.

“Mbona kuna mvutano kati yako na Harmonize na alivyotoka Wasafi hata ikabidi sheria ichukue hatua yake, kwa nini hatua ilifika pale na kama vitu viliisha fresh mpaka malipo yakatokea kwa nini huo mvutano upo mpaka leo kwa nini hakuna kusupportiana kupush mziki wa Bongo Flava uende mbali zaidi”posed Lil Ommy.

Why I cried when being signed at Wasafi – Mbosso

Bongo singing sensation and Wasafi signee Mbosso has opened up on why he cried while being unveiled as Wasafi artist in January 2018.
Mbosso a former member of the now defunct Yamoto Boyz Band was a worried man after the group’s fallout.

He says it took him a long time to get a new recording label as his other former band mates Aslay and Enock Bella seemed to have picked up and were already doing well as solo artists.

He remembered writing songs for other artists which turned out to be hits.
Mbosso says that he was also needed to to keep his silence on the projects for he had been paid for the work.

According to Mbosso, he then turned to playing football and it was then that Rich-Mavoko while still at Wasafi tracked him down for a possible collaboration.

“Rich Mavoko ndiye aliyenichukua nyumbani nilipokuwa nacheza football,” said Mbosso.
“Nililia wakati ule nikikumbuka jinsi awali sikuwa na management, shows pia,” he said.

Mejia reveals why he doesn’t charge collabos

High flying Genge artist and arguably the current King of Collabo’s Mejja Okwonkwo – Mtoto wa Khadija has stated that he doesn’t just offer Collabo’s but only to deserving cases.
Speaking to Lynn of Tuko the Jana Kuliendaje Star remembered those who held his hand as he worked his way to the top.
Before he rose to Stardom Mejja used to peddle ground nuts, coffee and would occasionally get errands of mounting event posters.
“Nimeuza kahawa chungu,njugu ya kushkisha ile imetolewa maganda na pia nilikuwa nabandika posters… Nilikuwa msanii wa base ule hana kitu,” he said.
Brought up by a single mother Mejja admitted that it was not easy growing up, at some point he was mocked for his bulging weight and the use of his mother’s name – Khadija as his surname.
He up to date thanks Eve D’Souza, DJ John and Clemo as people who played a great role in moulding him into the Star he is today.
Mejja also recounted how a gospel artist he wanted to work with on a collabo demanded a hefty pay which was out of his reach, it was that moment that gave him an awakening to always stand up and help someone when need arose.

Rayvanny’s brand new album already causing ripples

Wasafi’s Rayvanny, has dropped an Album dubbed-Sound From Africa.

The 2017 winner Bet Awards for Best International African Act Viewers Choice has featured collaboration from artists within the African continent in the album that was dropped yesterday.

Some of the artists featured include Innoss’B from Congo, Joeboy from Ghana, Nasty C from South Africa and Weasel from Uganda.

The Wasafi stable went a notch higher by advertising the album on Times Square, the world’s leading business and tourism center.

It is estimated that putting up an advertisement on times Square for a day attracts huge market shares of about 1.5 million people.

A day’s feature advert on the screens ranges from $5000 to $50,000 and a month’s feature going up to $3 million.

With these figures The Wasafi stable seems to have put in good money in promoting Rayvanny’s Album.

The venture however seems to be already giving  some returns as within 24 hrs of release on media platforms it had already surpassed over a million views.

This was good news for the Diamond owned music label as another Signee Zuchu who is barely a year into the music industry was also causing ripples with her new hit, Sukari.

Sukari also set a new record over the weekend with more than one million streams within 24 hours beating also her Boss Diamond Platinumz who had earlier dropped a jam, Shusha featuring Baba Levo.

Tanzania’s singer Ibrahim Abdallah Nampunga commonly known as Ibraah of Harmonise’s Konde Music Worldwide record label is in Kenya.
The rising star jetted into the country on Monday and commenced his week-long media tour.


Ibraah rose into fame after releasing his first collabo with Harmonise dubbed One Night Stand that was well received by Bongo fans worldwide.
Ibraah has done another album Steps featuring international musicians Skiibii and Joe Boy from Nigeria.


He will be touring different parts of the country meeting different artistes.

Harmonize caught in controversy of breaking woman’s marriage

Konde Music Empire CEO Harmonize has been caught in yet another scandal involving a married woman.

The Happy Birthday hit maker who broke off from Wasafi Records is currently shrouded in a controversy that has seen the married woman dumped by her husband.

The married woman named Happy was apparently a make up artist for the Kond Gang Crew.

Trouble started in her marriage when Happy traveled with the Konde Gang to Zanzibar to shoot Ibraah’s single Nimpende.

During  the shoot, Harmonize’s signee Ibraah did not like the video vixen of the day prompting Harmonize to swap the vixen with Happy who is apparently the wife of Bongo Flava Artist Beka Flavour.

Since they were shooting Harmonize’s Unajikosha video, the crew then ended up spending two weeks in Zanzibar to the chagrin of Beka.

“Usiku ule ule alivyonitumia message nikamjulisha Harmonize mmeona sasa mmenichelewesha mpaka mimi nimeachika, kesho ntakuwa naanza maisha moja kwa moja… Harmonize hakuniambia kama anamtexti akaandika bonge la barua liko hivi kamwelewesha kila kitu hadi kamwomba msamaha nashangaa Harmonize asubuhi ananiambia bwanako amenijibu upumbavu sana,” lamented Happy.

She has since moved out of her matrimonial house and set up a beauty parlour in Sinza due to her growing demand in the world of beauty.

The mother of one also disclosed her major plans of joining Bongo Movie as an actress,she has already appeared in Season two of Maisha Magic’s Soap Opera ‘Pazia’.

The lass who has styled the likes of Mr. Blue,Harmonize and Beka Flavour said she prefers to work with ordinary people unlike stars who are stubborn and rarely pay well.

This is not the first time for their union to face turbulence and netizens have joined the unfolding drama with some castigating their endless fights.

Singer Nameless has shared with the public his sources of inspiration when it comes to music writing.

Speaking during an online interview the ‘Sinzia’ hit maker disclosed how he wrote most of his songs in Matatu’s plying the Nairobi routes.

“Most of the songs i wrote normally while in a mathree or at home nikiskiza mziki alafu naandika kitu,” he said.

He mentioned his song’s ‘Deadly’ and ‘Megarider’ as some of the hits inspired by the Matatu culture which resonated well with him at the time as it was the cheapest mode of transport for a man who was still fighting to make a name in the Kenyan Entertainment Industry.

The Star also shared his song writing skills stating that he always starts with the chorus as it guides him in coming up with the theme.

“Kitu nakuwanga first kupata ni chorus kabla nianze kuandika verse juu hiyo ndiyo hunipatia topic of the song” he added.

The artist who is married to fellow Pop Star Wahu Kagwi has two daughters Tumiso and Nyakio.

This was brought out during a recent media interview where the ‘Bidii Yangu’ rapper was being interviewed by a panel that included his better half who is also a media personality.

Lilly Asigo has always been in support of her husband after a section of netizens branded the King of Genge as poor.In one of her posts she fired  back in support of her man.

Gospel  singer Kambua has lost her newborn son Malachi days after delivery.

Kambua broke the news of her son’s demise in a deep heartbreaking post on her Instagram page.

“He was everything we hoped for, and more, much more. Perfect in every way. Malachi knew how much he was loved, and so he did all he could to stay with us,” she stated.

According to Kambua her som Malachi Mathu fought for his life with the help of a most dedicated team of doctors and nurses.

“Malachi is now free from pain, and any worldy care. Our tears fall freely because our hearts are broken beyond words. But our faith and hope remains unshaken because we have our trust in a dependable God,” wrote Kambua.

The gospel singer and TV Presenter has asked for time to process her son’s death and has stated that she will respond to calls and messages in due time.
