Comedian Oga Obinna was on Wednesday roasted online after sharing a post making fan of Tanzanian actress Tausi Mdegela.

In the controversial post, the comedian said that men have no limits and asking why any man would impregnate someone like Tausi who is a dwarf.

Obinna tagged Joe Muchiri and Blak Aende who also joked about the post.

“Boychild has no limits chisos!! @joewmuchiri @blakaende who did this???” he said

The comedian rubbed his online fans the wrong way and many women called him out over his post.

“This is sooo wrong how could you post such she is a woman and she deserves to have a family shame on you!” wrote Fancy Chepkorir

Actress Esther Chebet also called out the comedian telling him how wrong he was.

“Some of us were birthed and raised by people living with Disabilities.This is wrong on so many levels! This is not Savage,it’s stupidity!!” she wrote

However in a separate post, it looks like the comedian is un-bothered by the anger he sparked online.

A producer working with Rihanna in her upcoming Album is now saying Shaggy is lying about being asked to audition for the album.

Shaggy’s statement ignited a lot of controversy prompting Rihanna Navy (her fan club) to go after the veteran singer.

Shaggy had earlier said that he had opted not to be part of the album and insinuated that he had been asked to audition to be on it.

“They approached me for the Rihanna project, yeah. There’s a lot of great people involved, but for me, I didn’t need to audition to be on the record, I’ll leave that to younger guys. But from what I hear it should be good.” He said

One of the Jamaican producers working with the Rihanna on the album has revealed that she didn’t ask the reggae/dancehall legend to audition for the album, and that he was the one who approached them first.

He added that Shaggy wasn’t the only big-name reggae artistes that contacted her team to be a part of the project.

“I’ve worked with Rihanna and I’ve never seen her asked another artiste to audition to work with her and she has worked with many. She never asked any one of us to request any artiste to ‘audition’ and we didn’t ask anyone to do that. I know Shaggy and I have the utmost respect for him as someone who contributes so much to our culture, so no I wouldn’t asked him to do something like that nor would I stand for anyone on our side to ask him to do that. The bottom line is this isn’t a fair criticism and these bad press surrounding this fiasco don’t reflect on the type of person she is.” he said

Shaggy’s team has since released a statement explaining that his words were taken out of context.

Sharon Burke, who heads Solid Agency, says that the dance hall icon and Rihanna have been in touch with each other while she was working on the project.

“Rihanna’s team had been in talks with Shaggy’s team to participate on the album, it’s no secret .They’ve been in touch with many other reggae artistes to be involved and they wanted Shaggy to submit some songs rather than go in studio together. Both artistes’ schedules are very tight and when he said he would rather not audition by submitting songs and that he’d rather leave that to younger artistes, Shaggy’s word was taken out of context.” she said

Former WWE wrestler and Hall of Famer Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson, the father of wrestler and actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has passed on Wednesday.

Soul Man was aged 75 at the time of his death and the cause of death is yet to be established.

The wrestler retired from the sport in 1991 and began training his son The Rock, who eventually became one of the biggest figures in the sport.

He was born and raised in Nova Scotia, began his career in the mid-1960s as part of the National Wrestling Alliance. He quickly went on to become the first African American to win the Southern, Georgia and Florida heavyweight titles before starting his wrestling career with WWE in 1983.

Wrestlers took to social media to share condolence messages and mourn the fallen wrestler.

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has fired back a t Khaligraph Jones in a diss track dubbed ‘Green Blaq Green’

His response comes a day after Khaligraph savagely dissed him in a track dubbed ‘Best Rapper in Nigeria’ following their online beef.

The two have been embroiled in a bitter exchange since Blaqbonez took to social media to argue that Khaligraph did not deserve to win ‘Best rapper’ at the sound city MVP awards.

“Somebody tell Khaligraph that I’m still the best rapper in Africa Sound City got it wrong. Diss track in the morning, you know what I mean!!!” said Blaq Bonez

Khaligraph then went on to release a diss track which has already garnered over 190K views on Youtube.

In a rejoinder Blaqbonez hit back with his distrack which many of the online users argue that is yet to reach Khali’s standard.

Green Blaq Green premiered on Youtube on 15^th January and currently enjoys a viewership of 50k views

Media personality Willis Raburu has once again penned an emotional letter to his late daughter Adana.

Willis Raburu has revealed that he has been going through a lot of emotional trauma since he lost his daughter.

1. Khaligraph Jones and Blaqbonez

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez and Kenya’s own Khaligraph have topped this week’s headlines with their back and forth. The beef started after Khaligraph Jones won the best rapper in Africa award at the Sound City MVP awards. After the gala night, Blaqbonez took to social media to share his thoughts on Lhaligraph’s win saying that he did not deserve to win the award.

The beef escalated when Khlai dropped a diss track in response dubbed ‘Best rapper in Nigeria’ telling off the Nigerian rapper to wait for the next season to bag the award.

A day later, Blaqbonez dropped his response to Khaligraph in ‘Green Blaq Green’ but many online users were not impressed by the diss.

2. Avril and Naiboi

Avril and Naiboi’s beef is not new this week but it left tongues wagging. The two were involved in a beef last week after Naiboi singled out Avril in one of his posts. In the post, Naiboi asked his fans to name one female singer they would like to see him work with but pointed out that he doesn’t want to work with Avril.

This week, Avril responded saying that Naiboi was still mad at her for refusing to be part of his 2in1 jam and revealed that she was still recovering from delivering her baby whne Naiboi approached her.

3. Diana King and Vybz Kartel

Reggae legend Diana King came out to question the Jamaican justice system for allowing dancehall star Vybz Kartel to record music in prison.

Diana King is lashing out against the Jamaican prison system, permitting inmates to record music while serving their sentences.

Through a social media post, Diana King revealed that she continues to be irked by the special treatment Dancehal and Reggae artistes receive while serving their sentences.

“I’ll never be able to ignore the fact that a convicted artist/prisoner serving time, be it for murder/rape, can still record and release music from prison in Jamaica. How do you all do it? Is it because it wasn’t you who was raped or your luved one killed???” she said

Diana is said to have also been targeting Jamaican singer Jah Cure through her tweet.

Cure was convicted of rape in 1999 and was sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Cure’s mega hit single “Reflections” was recorded and released from prison

4. Vybz Kartel

Valerie Neita-Robertson, one of the senior attorneys on Vybz Kartel’s case revealed that the verdict on his appeal may be given soon.

According to the attorney Vybz’s case is looking very good and the dancehall king and deejay may just be a free man soon.

In December 2019, the Court of Appeal indicated in a letter to Kartel’s lead attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson that the process had reached an advanced stage and a verdict would be announced soon.

Robertson in a recent interview revealed that Vybz’s appeal case looks very good but maintained that there is still no guarantee that he will be acquitted.

“Of course, we are always hopeful. There are no guarantees that our client will be acquitted, but to my mind, it is a very good appeal,” she said.

She also maintained that the process has taken too long but the verdict is expected to be delivered any Friday from now.

5. Rihanna and Shaggy

Earlier this week, Shaggy revealed that he rejected an offer to be part of Rihanna’s upcoming album because he saw it fit to leave it to younger generations. His sentiments also insinuated that he had been asked to audition to be part of the album.

On Friday, Kenyans woke up to news that Embakasi East member of parliament had shot someone at a night club in Kilimani.

The victim was later identified as Felix Orinda popularly known as Deejay Evolve.

Following the Member of Parliament’s arrest after the incident, deejays have come out to condemn Babu Owino’s actions.

Ghetto Radio’s deejay Double Trouble and Deejay Katta have called out the Member of Parliament for what they termed as unnecessary action.

“It is very sad what happened to deejay Evolve and justice must be served. It doesn’t matter is Babu is a member of parliament or not. We are not sure what exactly happened to lead up to such an act but no matter what the deejay did, those actions were uncalled for. Deejays are being harassed everyday in clubs but this one was extreme and the DCI should ensure justice for DJ Evolve” Said DJ Double Trouble

Deejay Katta on his part called out the Member of Parliament saying that he may have been under the influence at the time of the incident.

“It doesn’t matter what substance he had used. People use different substances but they don’t shoot each other. Why would he shoot the deejay. Justice for deejay Evolve must prevail.” Said deejay Katta

The matter is currently under investigation following the MP’s arrest.

TV girl Chero has taken legal action against singer Rawbeena who recently claimed that she funded the TV girl’s lifestyle.

In a letter dated 16th of January Chero´s lawyer B. Ong’eri of Daniel Orenge & Company advocates, on behalf of his client Chero, asked the Rawbeena to make a public apology and retract her statement.

“On 13th Fanuary, 2020, an interview of yourself with the star Newspaper Journalist Elizabeth Ngigi was published on the ¨Word is¨ column of the said Newspapoer which interview adversely and negatively defamed our client. In the said interview, headlines as ´Rawbeena Exposes TV Girl Chero´s Madharau´ without verification and/or justification defamed our client stating that you were the one financing the fancy and highflying lifestyle of Carolyn Nasimiyu Murumba a.k.a Chero, our client. In their entirety, either in their natural and ordinary meaning or by imputations and innuendoes, your statements meant and were understood to mean that; our client is promiscuous, opportunist, ungrateful, a bad friend, a thief, unreliable and incapable of keeping true friendship. The defamatory text was calculated, to injure, disparage and lower the esteem with which the general public regards and holds our client; considering that our client is a famous TV Show host which airs on KTN every Saturdays from 11am-1pm with an average audience of 1.1 million. Further, your client posted the said post out of malevolence and spite and without justifiable cause, thereby discrediting the good way and the reputation of the undersigned. By the sending of the said texts, the undersigned has been greatly injured in character and reputation as a consequence. Whereof, the undersigned has been brought into ridicule, scandal, odium and contempt in the eyes of her fans and sponsors.

By this letter we demand the following from your client in the next 7 days.

1. An unreserved and unconditional retraction in writing of the entire contents of the publication.
2. A full and effectual publication of the apology and retraction aforesaid to our client who the text defamatory text was sent to.” The statement read

The advocates further added that should Rawbeena fail to comply, they will proceed with the defamation suit.

“In the event we do not get a positive reaction from you, our instructions are to institute a defamation suit against you client for damages without any further reference and at the your client´s peril as to costs and other consequences attached thereto.” Read part of the statement

Efforts to reach Rawbeena for a comment were futile.

Embattled EMB records signee Peter Blessing has broken his silence following the scuffle with EMB boss Bahati.

Last week, word broke that the 20 year old had quit Bahatai’s label after he shared a video on social media asking fans to support him in his new journey.

Peter Blessing who hails from Taita Taveta released his first song last year dubbed ‘Nasubiri Bado’ under Bahati’s record label after Bahati pulled him out of a security job.

On Thursday Peter Blessing and EMB producer Paulo were allegedly arrested and the singer spent the night at Central Police Station following a case filled by Bahati.

Paulo spoke after his release saying that Bahati had accused him of stealing from the studio and yet he gave him the said items.

Blessing spoke out saying that he spent the night at central police station over fake allegations.

“Can´t imagine nilikuwa cell But God I know this are signs of my success, Mungu halali mengi mazuri yananisubiri…. Its only God who replies to the deeds the poor are going through. Fake allegations got consequences. God´s Favour.” He said

It is however not clear what transpired between Bahati and Peter Blessing but according to Blessing’s mother, her son was being mistreated at EMB.

Blessing’s mother while on an interview with a local publication hinted that the EMB boss claims that Blessing owes him 2 million Kenya shillings.

“My son does not owe bahati 2 million. They are only taking advantage because they feel he is poor and has nowhere else to go.

In-fact they are the ones who have been enriched by peter through his music. On 31st my son performed and he was to be paid 50,000 but he was not paid despite performing.But some of the other artists who performed were paid”

The whole back and forth started after the EMB boss got wind of Blessing’s intended exit from his record label.

Singer Rawbeena has responded to a lawsuit filled by TV girl Chero.

According to the singer, she has evidence to back up her recent statements and has vowed not to apologize.

While speaking to journalists, Rawbeena also claims she bought the phone Chero is currently using and even has the phone’s back up linked the her own (Rawbeena) gmail account.

“Truth stands, I have helped her brand in the last two years. I wrote her CV, any project she embarked on, I did the proposal.The phone she is currently using, I bought and backed it up in Finish. It was in Finish then I changed it to English. In that way, whatever things she does has been backed up to my Gmail. I disabled it the other day coz there was a lot coming in,” Rawbeena said

Rawbeena also revealed that she recently filled a case against Chero over a certain BMW car.

In a separate interview Rawbeena said she will not apologize and dared the TV siren to proceed with the lawsuit.

“I am not going to apologize. I will wait for the seven days, if she wants to sue me, we will go to court. I am ready. I wanted to set the record straight and if i continue putting the record straight, it means it will bring her a lot of shame. But again, i am mature and i can’t stoop that low. If they want us to go that way, we will.” She said

Through her lawyer, B. Ong’eri of Daniel Orenge & Company advocates Chero demanded an apology from the singer.

Gospel singer Peter Blessing has opened up on what he was charged with after his arrest last week.

Speaking for the first time, Blessing revealed that EMB boss Bahati accused him of obtaining two million from EMB records.

“Nilikuwa nimeandikiwa Obtaining Sh2, 039, 000 ivo, lakini hakuna ukweli kwa hiyo. So nilipata nimeshitakiwa Hivo. So hii ilikuja baada ya kutaka kutoka EMB. Unajua nikiingia EMB nilikuwa na plans zangu na pia God huguide mtu, so nilifeel maybe ni time ya God nitoke EMB, sikuwa na Ubaya hata nawao.” he revealed

The ‘Nasubiri bado’ singer also revealed that there was friction between him and his management adding that Bahati has also been rude to his mum.

“Kulikuwa na issues tu mob, unapata wanacall Mom wanamuongelesha tu vibaya, na hiyo ilikuwa inaniuma sana sana, alafu kuna time walisema niende tu home na hata nisirudi, but time nilirudi Nairobi, wao walijam so ikabidi nimeenda ofisi tuonane, but main reason na feel tu God Alikuwa na reason nitoke. Kulikuwa na vitu mingi zilikuwa zinahappen, so kivyangu niliona tu nitoke. But unajua kwa side ya Mom ilimhurt sana, juu yeye anaweza sema anything kama kitu ni wrong. So ukweli itakuja tu kujulikana. So iliniuma sana kuwekwa Cell na ilikuwa mara ya Kwanza,” said Peter Blessing

Speaking at a recent interview, Blessing also revealed details about his contract.

“I had signed a 20 year contract. I do not have a copy with me.He just asked me if i could sign the contract so that we could work together and i did. I had expectations at the time so I decided to work with him as he had given me a platform. I never thought I would leave EMB records, but now I have. Ant it’s not that i have become famous. I am not a star I am just beginning my dreams and I left EMB to protect my dreams and protect my family.” he said

Miracle baby revealed that he lived on the streets and at one point was even forced to work as a morgue attendant to fend for himself.

Miracle baby is the lead singer of the Sailor’s gang made up of Shalqido, Lexxy Yung, Masilver and Qoqosjuma.

His fellow singer Masilver worked at a construction site while Shalqido was a tout before the fame.

Rapper Curtis Jackson popularly known as 50 Cent is receiving backlash on social media after forcing his girlfriend to delete a post on social media.

The rapper’s girlfriend Cuban Link had shared a post work out photo on social media which didn’t sit well with the rapper.

“I killed the gym today, or maybe the gym killed me, either way, I won” Cuban captioned the photo

Moments after sharing the picture, 50 commented on the photo calling out the lass for sharing such a photo online.

“I just landed, why you gotta be doing sh** like this? You send this to my phone not on Instagram. What the f***?” 50 commented

Netizens went on to label the rapper and actor a control freak arguing that it is not the first time he’s done that.

After a two year break, international event, Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music will return to Nairobi, Kenya, on the 30th with an exclusive show that celebrates gengetone.

The event whose venue is yet to be revealed will feature a lineup that includes the heavy hitters in the gengetone industry.

Ballantine’s head of music, Tom Elton announced that the True Music project will be propelling the gengetone genre to the world.

“The artistes on our lineup have been making waves in the local scene for some time now, and we are truly humbled when we get to showcase and share such amazing talents with the world through the true music project.”He said

The line up will feature the likes of  Femi One, Ochungulo Family, DJ Lyta, Boondocks Gang, DJ Kalonje and Rico GangDJ Tryce.

The Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music partnership enables local scenes to continue pushing boundaries by giving them a global platform to create music that stays true to their creativity.
