Socialite and businesswoman Bridget Achieng recently opened up about being rejected by her potential mother-in-law over her background.

Bridget revealed that she was fortunate enough to meet a rich foreigner who was open to marrying her but her mother-in-law did not approve as Bridget did not come from the ‘right’ background.

“I once got a boyfriend and he was from a well-off family. I have been so lucky to get guys who are from well-off families.I went to meet his family and the mum was like so who is your family in Kenya? (Coz I have been dating foreigners a lot.) So who is your family? Who is your mother? My mother is just a tailor, she can make you a gown and you will look so pretty. So how will I tell this woman who is really strong and she has gold all over her hands that I’m a daughter of a nobody? All I can bring to the table is good food, laughter and make your son happy,” she narrated

She went on to narrate how her potential mother in law was not impressed that she was a tailor’s daughter.

“So I told her that my mother is a tailor and she was like ‘you’re a daughter of a tailor? You don’t fit here, my son is a prince so if you gonna fit in you need to come from the same class. You are a good girl, you have all the qualities you are smart but we need more. We don’t know how to bring you back to our county to meet our people, how can we say that say you’re a daughter of a tailor?’ That thing really weighed me down,” she added

The elder brother to Bobi Wine, Eddie Yawe has been arrested in Uganda under unclear circumstances.

Yawe who is also a singer,was reportedly on his way to Entebbe Airport to receive his brother but was waylaid by police.

He is currently detained at Entebbe Police Station.

Uganda police had on Wednesday said only Bobi Wine’s immediate family members would be allowed to receive him at the airport.

They had also warned Ugandans against gathering on the streets to welcome back the Kyadondo East MP who returns to the country after seeking treatment abroad.

John Onyango, a Homa Bay based fisherman is nursing serious injuries after his wife poured a pot of hot cooking oil on him.

The 40 year old and his wife allegedly had domestic wrangles prompting the incident.

Onyango sustained multiple burns all over his body following the attack by his wife Millicent Atieno.

Confirming the incident, area chief Samwel Obado said the couple has been having constant family wrangles which may have escalated.

The administrator said the suspect, who has since gone missing, pulled out a sufuria of hot oil from the jiko and poured it on Onyango.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect who is set to be charged with assault.

Vera Sidika recently shared while on an interview how much she earns from club hosting.

The socialite also revealed just how she makes her money from various businesses.

Vera said she doubles as a business person, a farmer and a model.

“I charge differently depending with where it is, for instance in Kenya I don’t take less than Sh300,000. I charge Sh 600,000 for abroad, say Malaysia or the US,” she said.

She added that she also rears and supplies poultry products to different hotels in the city.

“I am a model, I am an entrepreneur, and I have a hair lounge so I sell weaves and wigs. I am also an artist, I draw but not as much. I am an interior designer and I also do a little bit of farming. I do poultry farming, I rear chicken which I supply to different hotels in Kenya,” she said during the interview with Tanzania’s Kwanza TV.

Ugandan Police have re-arrested Kyaddondo East constituency member of perliament Bobi Wine moments after he arrived back in the country from the United States.

Wine landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi earlier on Today before leaving for Entebbe aboard a Kenya Airways flight.

“Ugandan opposition MP Bobi Wine is arrested and forced into army vehicle as soon as he lands at Entebbe airport after returning home from medical treatment in US,” Geoffrey York on twitter

Bobi Wine’s flight touched down at Entebbe Airport at about 1:00 pm East African time.

The politician was allegedly bundled into a military vehicle and ferried to an unknown location.

Redsan’s producer Dr Sappy has finally spoken out after being assaulted by the singer.

In an interview with a local media outlet, Sappy the whole saga was because of copyright and royalties on ‘The Baddest’ album, which dropped on Saturday.

“We agreed to work on the album and afterwards, we’ll figure out issues to do with copyright. The agreement was that we would have a sit-down with Sony Music on Friday 14 before the Saturday performances to figure out the aforementioned matter. However, that was not the case.

“The agreement was that we would go for the band practice, appearances and interviews together but that was not to be,”  he said

He added that he gave the artiste some time so he could sort out the issues.

“I figured that with the Tiwa Savage saga, he was probably under pressure and he’d explain later as to why he went silent. On Sunday, Redsan called me but I did not receive his calls as I was out of town. I travelled back to Nairobi on Monday.That Monday he caught me off-guard as he showed up at my studio demanding to know why I did not receive his calls.

Sappy went on to reveal that he would not be pressing charges and that he had already forgiven the singer.

The High court has suspended the ban on controversial lesbian film ‘Rafiki’.

The fims producer Wanuri Kahiu had filed a suit to have the ban lifted so she could submit her flm for the Oscar nominations.

Justice Wilfrida Okwany said the suspension of the ban by the Kenya Film and Classification Board shall be for a period of seven days.

Justice Okwany further added that the film will only be open for viewing to willing adults.

Rafiki’s storyline revolves around a romantic lesbian relationship, hence the move by the Kenya Film Classification Board to ban it over the homosexuality.

Kahiu in her application argued the ban made it impossible for her to submit the film for review by the Oscars Selection Committee Kenya for consideration in the Best Foreign Language Film category award.

Kahiuhas untill 30th of September to show her film in the country.

Socialite Zari Hassan has finally clarified why she was detained in the UK for over  16 hours amid speculation that it was over her age.

In a post she shared on her Snap chat, Zari said she was detained by the immigration officials because of her citizenship reasons and not faking her age as reports had it.

She went on to blast the blogger who claimed she was arrested for for faking her age on her travel documents.

Moral cop Ezekiel Mutua has finally responded to the High Courts decision to lift ban on Lesbian film Rafiki.

Mutua took to social media to air his frustration at th people who are happy to go watch the lesbian film after it ban was temporarily lifted.

The KFCB boss had banned the film but the court suspended the ban for seven days so that the movie could be aired locally and be submitted for the Oscars.

“So I hear the High Court has temporarily lifted the KFCB ban on the homosexual film “RAFIKI” to allow it to be screened for seven (7) days to fulfil the requirements for nomination to the Oscar’s. Although we have not been served with the orders, we are meant to understand that the lifting of the ban is for seven (7) days and the screening is RESTRICTED to ADULTS only. After 30th of September 2018 the ban by the Board resumes as earlier announced. It’s a tragedy that anyone in their sane minds think that homosexual content is the one to market Kenya’s film industry in the global market. Films and art in general should reflect the dominant values of the Kenyan people. Homosexuality is not our way of life and is against our values. Anything that threaten or undermines the institution of family, which is derived from a union between two people of the opposite gender must be condemned.
The attempt to normalise homosexuality is akin to air-conditioning hell!”” he said on Facebook.

Mutua went on to say that KFCB is paying attention to see which public theater is going to screen Rafiki.

“We are watching to see which public theater will exhibit it without the boards approval.” He said

However a few hours ago the petite lass was hosted on the Chipukeezy show where she cautioned young girls against having sponsors saying they (sponsors) only use young girls.

“Having a sponsor is not a bad thing, but having your own money is the best thing. Sponsors will just use and dump you,” she explained.

Hamisa was replying on Chipukeezy’s sentiments on her advice to young girls.

Prestige Cinema in Nairobi has been forced to add a second screen to show Kenya’s controversial movie Rafiki.

Rafiki premiered at the Cinema on Sunday after the High court gave it a temporary pass to air in Kenya for the first time.

Rafiki gained its fame after moral cop Ezekiel Mutua banned it from airing in the country on grounds of Homosexuality.

Many film lovers started queuing early Sunday morning for tickets hours before the doors were open.

The film was the first ever Kenyan film to premier at the  Cannes festival.

The cinema hall had earlier on informed movie lovers that they should be at the ticket counter 30 minutes before show time or else their tickets would be released for those at the counter.

Those who showed up to watch the film were also required to provide proof of their age before entry into the cinema since the movie is rated 18 years and above.

The films tickets are selling out fast after the high court gave it just a week to air in Kenya. So far Tickets upto the the Thursday screening are completely sold out.

Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe’s fiancé Joe Irungu popularly known as Jowie is in custody over the murder of Monica Kimani.

Monica Kimani was found dead at her apartment along Dennis Pritt road in Kilimani road last Friday.

“We have the suspect in custody. We have every reason to believe the suspect was involved in the murder. We are also trying to ascertain if he was shot or inflicted the wound on himself because the story he is giving is not consistent,” said a police statement

Earlier, it was reported that Joe had been attacked and shot on his chest as he dropped Monica off at her place in Kilimani after picking her up from a club in the same area.

Police said that there was no shooting reported at that area at the time he reportedly said he been shot.

Joe was allegedly shot by three unknown men who were waiting on a motor cycle in front of Monica’s apartment as he was dropping her off.

The assailants did not rob them of anything.

He told police he had arrived at the Royal Park Estate last week on Friday morning to drop off the lady when he noticed three men standing at the entrance.

Rapper Octopizzo has ignited an online conversation after he announced his latest ambassadorial deal.

Octo took to Instagram to share that he is the newest ambassador for Smirnoff liquor.

Instead of being happy however, a section of fans took issue with his latest deal saying he was not the right person for the job.

Many people questioned why the brand would choose to pick someone who does not drink to endorse it.

Fans called him out saying him signing on the deal was pretentious.
