Women are increasingly spending a lot of money on their hair, especially because African women do not really appreciate their natural hair thus they tend to look for weaves and wigs – some of which cost a fortune.
One such lass is Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu, who revealed she spends TSh 4.8 million (KSh. 221,000) on weaves every month. She was heavily trolled for revealing that especially by men, prompting her on and off boyfriend Idris sultan came to her defense saying he did not have a problem with her spending huge sums of cash.
During an interview with Bongo 5, the lad said: “Kwa level yake anafaa, kila mtu na level yake,” he said. “Kwa hiyo nina maanisha kila mtu ana thamani yake, na kila siku hadhi ya maisha yake inapanda na pia anafanya kazi ndiyo maana anafikia katika level hiyo,”
In translation, “She is in her own class. Everyone spends according to his ability. Every single day Wema’s value ascends. She is industrious. That justfies her spending,”
The Big Brother Africa winner also added that one’s lifestyle changes with their own individual economy. So if they can afford it, it shouldn’t be a problem
