Luo rapper Japesa has revealed that he spent Ksh. 3 Million on his latest music video shot in the US.
The Ohangla rapper says that he had to spend all that money in order to make the video a success.
According to Japesa, he is the first and only person in the country to rap Ohangla songs and hopes to be the last one.
“Nimefanya Ohangla rap, hakuna mtu amewahi fanya Ohangla rap hii Kenya the first one is me and probably the last one. Sasa wewe enda tu uchambue hiyo ngoma uone kama the boy amewaste ama hajawaste. Video nimefanyia majuu sasa unajua tu Amerika na imenicost million tatu,” said Japesa.
Japesa’s latest song ‘ndesna’ was released last week on YouTube and has only garnered 9,000 views so far.
The setting and the vixen however tell a different story on the cost of the video.
The rapper is known for publicly accusing comedian Jalango of killing gengetone music in Kenya.

The rapper also requested Jalango to always be neutral and support all the musicians in Kenya without looking at the type of song they do.
“By the way, Jalang’o is my friend and I respect him very much. But imagine now nobody is not listening to Gengetone because Jalango said ‘Gengetone is trash’. And that was the only music that would have put Kenyan music on the map. Unajua sahi Jalango anakaa kama Baba huko Nyanza akisema ni wewe ni wewe na akisema si wewe si wewe. Sasas sisi tunaomba to Jalango akuwe neautral juu yeye ni pulic figure na pia ni jina kubwa,” said the rapper.
He has however insisted that he does not have any beef with Jalango and that the two are still friends despite Jalango’s alleged onslaught on Gengetone music.
