Incarcerated Jamaican dancehall entertainer Adidja Palmer commonly known as Vybz Kartel is about to be a free man, his attorney Isat Buchanan held an exclusive interview in Kingston Jamaica with US media outlet Fox 5 News and hinted at Kartel being a free man soon.
According to Buchanan the compelling fresh evidence linking Kartel to murder clearly indicates that his blackberry cell phone was tampered with days after the police confiscated it from the Clark Singer.
“What was out before the jury was evidence that we do not know if it was authentic but certainly we do now know is that there was tampering of that cellphone,” said Buchanan.
He revealed that they’ll be launching a higher appeal in London to have Kartel set free from the 2014 conviction of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams murder.
Earlier, Jamaica’s Assistant For Director Of Public Prosecutions Orret Brown admitted to being aware of three calls made from Kartel’s phone nine days after it was handed to investigators.
He failed to prove it’s use claiming the phone dialled itself, it’s for these reasons that now Kartel’s lawyer is fighting to him released, he alleges a planned conspiracy to fix his client to the murder and have him jailed.
Vybz Kartel who’s also fondly referred to as the ‘Worl Boss’ remains one of the most streamed artist’s though he has remained behind bars for close to a decade.
A while ago he was crowned ‘King Of Dancehall’ after being voted for by the masses, he has also continued to dominate dancehall charts, a good example is his collaboration with Tommy Lee Sparta also known as Uncle Demon on ‘Dark Ages’ which they released while serving time in jail. On his part regarding the murder, Kartel has continued to advocate for his innocence.

He was jailed in 2014 together with fellow Singer’s Shawn ‘Storm’ Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St. John.
Kartel was eligible for parole after serving 35 years and St John 30 years. There have also been reports of Kartel being transferred from Spanish Town Prison to Horizon remand in efforts by the Jamaican government to instill stringent rules to high ranking criminals such as restrictions from cell phone use which Kartel has been enjoying if his posts on Instagram is anything to go by.
Will Kartel finally be a free man? What does that mean to his followers and the dancehall fraternity? Share your ideas below.
