Tanzanian Singing Sensation and Wasafi Boss  Diamond Platinumz has faced a backlash from netizens after appearing with veteran US rapper Snoop Dogg in a photo while in the studio in what is anticipated to be a high profile collaboration.

Those who took offense with his association with the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ rapper cited Snoop being ‘over used’ in the music industry with nothing much to offer but his Marijuana smoking sessions.

“Huyo ni kama mr nice wa marekani fanya kazi na Justin bieber au Drake ndio tutakuelewa😂😂” fired one user.

“Utapewa bangii 😂😪😪shauri yako,” shot another user.

The Tanzanian crooner has continued with his long stay in the US where he is preparing his newest album ‘Swahili Nation’.

Diamond has also been seen in the company of US leading stars from Whiz Khalifa to Busta Rhymes who referred to him as ‘Africa’s Michael Jackson’ and now Snoop Dogg.

However, some loyal fans congratulated the ‘Baba Lao’ Singer in his bid in marketing Swahili to the world.

“Go go go simba 👏👏👏God loves you.. It has never happened in East Africa 🌍,” wrote one fan.

“We put Swahili Nation on the map 🔥,” posted a second fan.

Snoop Dogg remains one of the most hardworking US rappers of all time with more than 18 albums under his belt.

In 2021 he was also appointed at Def Jam Records as a creative consultant for his vast experience in the world of music.

As Diamond rubs shoulders with the best, he hopes to emulate them and stand out in the ever changing music industry, we wait to see what the boy from Tandale has in store for us in his new album.
