A leading University of Nairobi lecturer Prof Stephen Nzuve was last night shot dead by gunmen at his Tala home in Machakos County.
Police say Prof Nzuve was shot in cold blood in his sitting room after a gang of five had terrorised him and his family..
The gang escaped with three laptops, an unknown amount of money and other valuables. Police say the gang forced their way into the house after waylaying Nzuve at his gate.
He had apparently escorted visitors who were in his house to the nearby shopping center and was on his way back to the house when he was attacked.
