A journalist who once had a job that most journalists would long for has downed his tools in the media to venture into poultry farming.

Enock Ndayala was the senior crimes reporter at Tuko for three years until two months ago when he decided he needed a career change.

Speaking exclusively to Ghetto Radio, Ndayala said the media industry in Kenya is too crowded and pays too little, something that contributed to his departure.

“The job is too tiresome and the industry itself is unbearable, you give your all and end up being paid peanuts. I just decided it was time to focus on a different career path.” He said

Ndayala who currently resides in his home town Kitale, said he has no regrets because his business has been doing well.

“My business has picked well in the last two months and is doing so well.” He added

In other related news, Ebru TV’s Diana Rachel Wairimu has also downed her tools saying she has had enough of employment.

In a post shared online, Diana Rachel said she is tired of working in a ‘toxic’ environment with people controlling all her decisions.

“I am done with being in an environment that is so toxic to even breathe. I am so done dealing with humans who feel like they have you. They are just controlling every move that you make. You cannot even think for yourself. You are treated like a school child. I mean I am almost 32. It is time for me to fly,” said the journalist.

According to the talented journalist, she loved the life on the screen but she had got to a point where she was only smiling for the cameras just for the sake.

“This may be a surprise to a majority because I may have looked like I am probably having my best life, don’t get me wrong, I have loved every bit of what I do until I got to the point where I was just getting by the day and smiling for the cameras,” she added
