No place is safe as it seems to me now. Not even the islands of Zanzibar where one would imagine,the peace from the ocean’s waters would be sufficient and safe for Hits Fm.
So on Thursday morning,Tanzanians woke up in awe news of Hits Fm attack.
15 masked men,who drove in a Noah van reportedly attacked the Tanzanian local Radio station by the name Hits Fm which is located in the Islands of Zanzibar and burnt it down beyond recognition.
The attackers are said to have beat the security men and made their way in where they abducted the Radio Presenter on air if anything Sophy Dalah(another Presenter)told Bongo5.com was to go by.
Sophy claimed that the men had covered their faces like Ninjas. They put rags on the presenter on duty mouth before covering his face. They also used a few threatening words and dial punched him with blunt object before throwing him out.

tunaomba ushuke kwenye kiti cha utangazaji na tunachokuambia tunaomba ufuate,Wakamfunga uso, wakamfunika ili asijue nini
kinachoendelea wakamwekea matambala mdomoni hatimaye wakamtoa nje. Walimpiga piga mapanga lakini sio kwa kumuumiza, bali walikuwa wakimtishia tu,” Sophy told Bongo5.com in an exclusive Interview.
Police are still carrying out investigations to determine the reason behind the malicious act.
Staffs from the station have since been sent home till further notice.
