Rapper Chris Kaiga has called out Safaricom claiming they illegally used his Zimenice phrase in an advertisement.
In a post shared online, Kaiga said it was high time Safaricom got called out for infringing his rights.
He shared a screenshot of a message where Safaricom was promoting their Blaze Data bundle using the phrase ‘zimenice’
“It is high time Safaricom got called out for infringing on my creative works! Less than one year ago they ran a campaign dubbed ‘zimenice zemince zangu zimenice na blaze by Safaricom’ which i hold the registered trademark and copyright to the song.” He said
In one of the screenshots shared, he showed another ad where Safaricom is marketing sms bundles with the phrase ‘Iende Chain Chain’ a line from yet another famous song by the artiste.
The Telco company is yet to respond to the singer’s accusations.
