
Veteran journalist Lolani has thanked Kenyans for coming to his rescue after photos of him looking frail surfaced online.
In a video shared online, Kalu said he was very grateful for the overwhelming support he has received since his photos were shared online.
Kalu especially thanked the OCS Kaloleni police station who tracked him down after a fan asked about Kalu’s wherebouts.
“I would like to give my thanks first to Allah and all my fans who stood with me and especially my three friends who shared this issue on social media. ” he said
His statement comes days after a twitter user shared photos of him looking like he is going through a very rough patch.
He shared the photo of Kalu looking frail far away from the jovial TV star Kenyans were once used to.
“Few days ago I asked about the whereabouts of journalist Lolani Kalu. Today Chief Inspector Siyat of Kaloleni Station has found him. I have spoken to Lolani. He is going through hard times & seeking for your help. His number is 0720554930. Kindly send him what you can. Thanks.” Wrote the user identified as Ahmed Mohamed
Kalu is reported to have traveled back to the village after his retrenchment to take care of his ailing 80 year old mother.
The father of three has been away from the limelight since he was laid off back in December 2017.
Reports also indicated that a contractor whom he sough to help him build a retirement home conned him out of kes. 1.5 million.
