Jamaican reggae star Dwight Duncan popularly known as Bushman now says that he is yet to feel Buju Banton’s impact since his release in December 2018.
Speaking to Dj Double Trouble on Ghetto Radio’s Reggae Kuruka, Bushman said he expected Buju to make a very huge impact upon release but he (Bushman) is yet to feel the impact.
“Buju Banton is and is still doing great work in the reggae industry but since his release from prison, I think my expectations were way too high. I was personally expecting a huge impact, more earthquakes, more lightning since his release but I think he is still rebuilding.” Bushman said
The reggae star also added that he would not mind collaborating with Buju again following the success of their 2011 song ‘Mama Africa’
“Collaborating with Buju again will be great. We still communicate and for me I wouldn’t even rush it because I know it will just happen automatically.” He added
Bushman further termed Buju’s win at the 2020 Jamaican Festival Sound Competition ‘A great gesture’
“The Festival thing I think was a great gesture because for the last decade I think, I don’t even remember who won the festival finals because the festival has been bringing in International Acts to try and learn about the culture and keep the culture rooted.” He concluded
Bushman who dropped his Album Conquering Lion exclusively on Ghetto Radio said he named his album so, because it speaks of situations that people face on daily basis and stand strong.
On Buju’s Album, the Jamaican star revealed that ‘Upside Down’ was the right name for Buju’s album because in the current days people are trying to make right be wrong and wrong be right.
