
The entertainment scene was rocked with a rather dark cloud this week following the deaths of a Rwandese and an American artistes as well as Papa Dennis’ burial. Even in the sad days some entertainers like Masterpiece and Diamond Platnumz still made headlines courtesy of controversy.

- Papa Dennis
Gospel artiste Papa Dennis was laid to rest at his parents’ home in Matunda, Likuyani constituency, Kakamega County.
The singer who died two weeks ago was eulogized by many who attended the funeral as a humble man.
Unlike the funeral service which was held at Nairobi Chapel on Monday, most celebrities did not make to attend Papa Dennis’ final send off.
Gospel artistes like Daddy Owen, Ringtone Apoko, Gloria Muliro, Mash Mjukuu, the owner of the studio where Papa Dennis spent his last moment and Mr. Seed however managed to attend.
The funeral was also thronged with a huge crowd of fans from Kakamega County.
Papa Dennis was found dead along Pangani area in unclear circumstances.
- Kizito Mihigo
Gospel Singer Kizito Mihigo was found dead on Monday in mysterious circumstances.
The singer who hails from Rwanda was found dead in his prison cell following his arrest earlier this month.
According to the Rwandese police spokesperson, the singer was found hanging in his cell.
“He was found hanging by an officer in the morning on Monday. He used the bed sheets that he was sleeping on to hang himself. Preliminary investigations show that he hanged himself on the window of his cell, but more investigations are being conducted, investigation is underway to establish reasons that pushed him to kill himself” Ms. Marie Michelle Umuhoza.
- Harmonize
Bongo sensation Harmonize got inked by a Kenyan tattoo artist and his Kenyan fans went into a frenzy after sharing the images online.
Konde boy treated himself to a huge elephant trunk tattoo on his back courtesy of Kenyan tattoo artist Freddy.
Konde boy flew the tattoo artist to Dar Es salaam to get the job done.
On Tuesday, Konde Boy unleashed photos showing his back covered with the ink, and elicited mixed reactions from his fans.
A section of netizens are convinced he is copying his former boss Diamond who recently tattooed a Lion’s face on the back of his hand to symbolize his nick name ‘Simba’
- Masterpiece and Bahati
Gospel singer Emmanuel King popularly known as Masterpiece King called out EMB boss and singer Kevin Bahati.
In a video that went viral, Masterpiece said the EMB boss ill hearted and went on to term Bahati’s record label a ‘Hotel’
Masterpiece was in the company of his friends when one asked what he thought of Bahati’s new song and Masterpiece went on to pretend that he doesn’t know who Bahati was.
“Ati umesema hupendi hii song ya Bahati? Huyu msanii ako gospel nusu,” asked the friend to which Masterpiece responded with “Huyo ndio nani?… Huyo ni ibilisi ako na roho chafu kama duster,” he said
The friend further poked what Masterpiece thinks of EMB records.
“Hio ni Hoteli, watu wanaingia, wanakula na wanatoka.” he added
Masterpiece later cleared the air saying he fell out with Bahati following a deal gone bad back in 2018.
“Bahati was my guy, but we no longer are. Some things happened, he called me for a show in 2018 during the new year’s eve.I had three shows on that day, in Makueni, Nairobi, and Thika. After leaving makueni, i immediately left the stage i took my car drove out at a high speed and left for thika.I risked a lot that night only to be told that bahati told his bodyguard to tell us our show had been canceled. I did not expect such a thing from him. He had an issue with mr. Seed on the same night so i left and went for another show in town.” He said
- Noti Flow and Colonel Mustafa
Just a few months after controversial couple Colonel Mustafa and Noti Flow broke up, they have rekindled their old flame.
The two made headlines in December 2019 after calling out each other during interviews following their break up. In one of her online posts, Noti Flow accused Mustafa of being gay and even alleged that he lives with a man in Utawala.
This was after former Nairobi diaries actor Trap King Chrome also leveled the same accusations against Mustafa.
Mustafa on the other hand accused Noti Flow of being a drama queen, saying that she bit him at one point.
He added that Noti Flow had taken hold of his social media account and deleted everything.
However it seems the two can’t keep off each other and have decided to give their relationship a second shot.
In a recent post, it seems that Mustafa finally got back his account.
He shared a post with Noti Flow seated by the pool and captioned it “Today was a good day”
Ghetto Radio Chit Chat reached out to Mustafa and he confirmed that they are in deed back together.
This is not the first time the two celebrities have broken up and made up in a few months.
Late 2018 they also had a nasty break up online with each side accusing the other of cheating however come January 2019, they made up again.
6. Tanasha Donna and Diamond Platnumz
East Africa’s most talked about couple, Diamond Platnumz and Tanasha Donna finally released their much awaited collabo dubbed ‘Gere’ and fans went into a frenzy.
The song which premiered on Youtube on Wednesday morning, already has well over 2.1 million views on Youtube.
The first time her fans got to hear the song was when Tanasha launched her EP (Extended Play) dubbed #DonnaTellaEP at the Sarit Centre Expo Center a few weeks back.
The song was initially thought to be Tanasha’s but a spot check on Youtube shows that the song was uploaded via Diamond’s Youtube channel and not Tanasha’s.
Two days later, the song has ignited controversy online with fans claiming that the couple lifted the video idea from a Brazilian artiste known as Iza.
Iza’s song Brisa premiered on Youtube on April 18th 2019 and currently enjoys 83 million views on Youtube.
A spot check on Youtube however shows that the two videos only have one similar set up. The scene in question features Tanasha and her dancers dressed in reggae colours and dancing in front of a grass-thatched shak which also features on Iza’s song.
