This week started with Bahati dropping a gengetone gospel song that left tongues wagging but amid all the controversy, a legend set foot in Africa for the first time. Here’s this week’s dose of the entertainment news weekly roundup.

  1. Bahati featuring Boondocks Gang

Gospel star Bahati was the number one trending topic this week after dropping a song dubbed ‘Taniua’

The song ignited mixed reactions online with many people taking issue with Bahati for featuring Gengetone group Boondocks gang.

Netizens argued that the song lacks zero gospel content and that Bahati is trying to revive a dying career.

Media personality Joe Muchiri however came to Bahati’s defence saying that nobody can tell artistes what to sing.

  1. MCA Tricky

Comedian MCA Tricky revealed that he is not dating Akothee’s daughter Rue Baby.

According to Tricky, his relationship with Akothee’s daughter is strictly work related.

Speaking at an interview, Tricky revealed that his relationship with Dion is strictly work oriented.

“Rue Baby ni beshte yangu sana halafu venye umeona hizo clips tumekua tukifanya na yeye projects kadhaa za Entertainment. So nimem incorporate kwa hizo clips, unajua ukicreate online content lazima uchose characters wisely” revealed the funny man.

  1. Octopizzo

Rapper Octopizzo revealed that he does not plan to collaborate with upcoming Luo rapper Japesa.

Octopizzo was asked by a fan to feature the rising star but said he would not because it will be monotonous.

The fan identified as Queen 254 told Octopizzo that he should collaborate with Japesa since the two would come up with an amazing track.

“Nakumbuka Ukitupa Bank Otuch na Luo Dollar. Si utupe new vibe na @JapesaKenya mnaeza toangoma moja nom asana na hio Hiphop &Luo vibe. Wuo Nyaboro make it happen” said the fan.

Octo however responded saying that the track would be monotonous since he already worked with Vicmas.

“Itakua monotonous. I only do one project at a at time that’s what makes it remembered and get it to be a classic. There will never be another Bankotuch same way there will never be never another Wakiritho. Next is coastal culture on the list” read Octo’s response

Following a viral video involving Tanzanian singer Ommy Dimpoz and Akothee, the singer was forced to clear the air about their relationship.

In the video, Akothee was seen twerking on Ommy Dimpoz and many believed that they have a story to tell.

Ommy shared how people have been flocking his DM asking him if he is ‘smashing’ Akothee.

The Tanzanian singer revealed that the video was shot sometime back at a party they both attended.

“Tulikua wote tumealikwa kwenye party fulani, watamu kwa hiyo kuna jamaa alikua na hoteli alikua anataka tufanye show pamoja so si unajua kwenye kuhave fun na nini tena that week ndio Kata ilikuwa imetoka. Actually, hata clip yenyewe ilikuwa ya December” he said

  1. Buju Banton

Jamaican Reggae sensation Buju Banton is in the country ahead of his much anticipated concert.

Buju landed at JKIA on Thursday night ahead of his much anticipated Reggae show at the KICC on Saturday.

Upon his touch down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Buju was welcomed by a team of traditional dancers who also introduced him to the Maasai culture.

Buju will also tour the Nairobi National Park before paying a visit to inmates at Kamiti Maximum Prison.
