RINGTONE(1)Now popular Kenyan gospel singer Ringtone might be going to jail if he doesn’t comply with the demands put on him by MCSK’s boss advocates.

The ‘Pamela’ hit maker might be sued if he doesn’t retract from  his ‘defamatory allegations’ against MCSK CEO Maurice Okoth and the Board altogether.

Consequently,a ‘cease and desist’ letter has been sent to the artiste by  Conrad Maloba and Associates who are representing Maurice to Ringtone addressing the same.

Below is the message sent to Ringtone and might see him rotting in jail if he doesn’t co-operate with the demands;

  Our client has learned that you are engaging and spreading false, destructive and defamatory rumours about the Society and particularly about himself as the CEO. Over the past few months you have made several false and extremely derogatory statements concerning our client, which statements have been posted by yourself on various public channels including mobile phone chat groups, the full particulars whereof are well within your knowledge.”

That you allegedly have a purported dossier with assumed malpractices by our client in his line of business that you are threatening to publicise. We have had the opportunity to see this supposed dossier of yours and indeed the contents therein are extremely defamatory and contain complete falsehoods that cannot be justified.

Provide us with prompt written assurance within three days that you will retract the defamatory allegations and that you will cease and desist from further defamation of our client’s character and reputation. If you do not comply with this cease and desist demand within the stated time period, our clients are entitled to seek monetary damages and equitable reliefs for your acts of defamation.”

It should be remembered that Ringtone had led  fellow artistes in a protest asking the government to advocate for the rights of artistes a while ago,but has been accused of being two-sided,only a week ago after phone call recordings of him were traced allegedly trying to stop the MCSK-SKIZA deal that will see local  artistes bank home 15 per cent of the money generated from downloads, up from 7.5 per cent.

However,he  has maintained his silence over the case,but confirmed receiving the letter via email.
