A gospel singer has been the subject of all trolls after coming out as gay via a Christian Youtube channel.
According to BBC who first highlighted the story, Albert Nabonibo, a Rwandese revealed that he was trolled silly after announcing his sexual orientation.
“Some people have insulted me, some have called me foolish and others called me stupid. But there are some who understand me – like my brother who has always encouraged me to be who I am.” he said
The 35 year old singer however says he was ready for the attacks because not many people are open to the idea of homosexuality.
He went on to reveal how he knows there are so many like him in the church that don’t come out because of fear of stigmatization.
He also called on those living in fear to follow his steps and come out so as to live freely.
In fact there are many like me even there in churches. The fact is they hide it because of the mentality of church-goers and the community and for their security. feel for others like me who live in fear. They should go out to be heard, because we have to be received like other people out here.” he said
