Nigerian singer Wizkid recently signed a partnership with sports Brand Nike.
The partnership saw Wizkid make and market his branded Star boy Nike T-shirts which sold out in just Ten minutes after release.
The special edition ‘Starboy’ soccer jersey which was released on September 10th, at selected stores was sold out by 8:00 am.
“That was fast! Sold out in 10 minutes! Love u all like crazy! God working harder than Satan!” Wizkid wrote on social media
With his signature ‘Starboy’ written in the front and ‘Surulere’ where Wizkid was born and raised written behind, the t-shirt was retailing at £64.95(KSh8,500).
According to Nike, the ‘2018 Wizkid Co-Creation Stadium Shirt’ is a celebration of the megastar’s Nigerian roots with the green and white trimmings representing the Nigerian flag.
“To create this Nike exclusive shirt, we teamed up with Nigerian pop sensation, Wizkid. Emblazoned with the logo of his own personal label, Starboy, Wizkid celebrates his story in bold design and subtle decoration.
“The colors of Nigeria proudly embellish the sleeves and the name of his starting place and hometown, Surulere, shines on the reverse. The shirt is finished with a centrally placed Nike Swoosh, complementing his iconic Star boy graphic below,” a statement from Nike read.
