Tanzanian Singer Omary Faraji popularly known as Ommy Dimpoz has refuted claims that he has been in an Intensive Care Unit.

Speaking for the first time after reports that he had been admitted in an ICU in a South African Hospital, the singer said he is recuperating after undergoing a second operation just weeks after the first throat surgery.

“Asanteni sana sana kwa message Zenu, Alhamdulilaah Naendelea Vyeme sana, Inshallah Kwa Uwezo  wake Allaah Nitavuka kipindi hiki Kigumu, Shukran” (Thank you for the messages, Thank God I am recuperating well hopefully through the will of God I will get out of this difficult situation.” He wrote

The singer was admitted in hospital for 15 days in June after he underwent a surgery to rectify a breathing and swallowing complication.

The singer was flown to South Africa courtesy of Mombasa governor Hassan Joho who noticed his struggle to eat while at a social event.

He was in a coma for seven days after his surgery.

His statement came just hours after his management refuted reports doing rounds that he was under the Intensive care Unit.

“He went for the check up as was advised by the doctors every three months. Dimpoz is in good health and hasn’t been admitted. After the checkup he went back to his residence,” reads a statement form his management

In a recent Interview while in South Africa the singer has revealed that doctors say his condition was caused by comsuming poison.

“Lakini wakaniuliza haujawai kunywa sumu? Nkawaambia hilo ni swali ngumu maanake ukisema nimekunywa sumu inamaana mimi ninywe sumu nataka kujiua ama vipi? Lakini wakaniambia kesi yako inadalili zote kwamba ulikula ama umekunywa kitu ambacho ni sumu,”

Celebrities across East Africa have come out to wish the popular singer a quick recovery
