Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris stirred an internet conversation on Tuesday when she decided to ditch her fancy car and settled for a bike ride from her home in Kitusuru to parliament.
Through her official twitter account, Passaris revealed she cycled from her residence to parliament.
“Feeling elated for a successful ride from my home to Parliament this afternoon. Admittedly, cycling in Nairobi is a daunting task loaded with many risks, but that should not be the case,” she wrote
The legislator went on to state how the country needs stringent laws to protect cyclists on the road.
“We lose people daily with cars, public transport, boda boda, walking, cycling or just standing along a pavement. This is a given. What we need is stringent laws, respect and courtesy as we all co-exist to get around the city while saving our planet by reduced emissions.” She said
