A Nairobi member of county assembly yesterday faced the wrath of fellow MCAs when she demanded that she addresses the house while seated.
Millicentt Mugadi who is Ziwani MCA is said to have caused a stir from among the members of the house and Speaker Beatrice Elachi by addressing the house while seated after claiming she has a special condition and cannot stand.
Turns out she is expecting her first child and is in her first trimester.
The speaker is reported to have asked her to stand but she refused terming her condition as special.
Elachi is reported to have ordered her to be addressing the house while standing as many women have gone through pregnancy in the house and have still respected the house’s Standing Orders.
Earlier this year she was among 15 MCAs ejected from a Fly 540 flight after they caused drama at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport.
Mugadi claimed harassment and lack of professionalism by the airline’s staff as she tried explaining her lateness.
