Singer Diamond Platnumz is involved in a heated war of words with Tanzania’s ministers.
The verbal exchange begun after Diamond fell out with the deputy minister Information, Culture, Arts and Sports,Juliana Shonza after she announced the ban on songs on social media without serving the affected artists with letters.
Tanzania’s minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Harrison Mwakyembe has come out to strongly defend his deputy Juliana Shonza.
Condemning Diamond’s decision to blast his deputy in a statement issued by the ministry,he says Diamond ought to use right channels to lodge complaints with the ministry instead of firing salvos at Juliana on social media.
The singer on his part said he would not follow the right channel since he also learnt of the ban through social media rather than being served with a letter as is protocol.
Speaking to Lil Ommy in his first ever media interview in Tanzania after his album launch, Diamond expressed his dissapointment at Shonza and the Magufuli Government, comparing them to a man who never provide for his wife but makes incessant demands. In response, Shonza mauled the singer and asked him to reach out to her if he had any problem with her or better still pen a letter and address it to the government. The minister said Diamond was just drunk with fame.
Ministers have come out to defend Shonza against Diamond’s verbal salvos.
