
Celebrities have often been victims of identity theft and especially with the rise of online presence.
The latest victim is Machachari actor Tyler Mbaya popularly known by his screen name Baha who recently exposed a con artist using his name to dupe unsuspecting Kenyans.
The con created a duplicate Facebook account which has Baha’s exact credentials and has been operating it to extort money from online users.
In a series of screenshots, the fraudster who masquerades as the actor asks fans and aspiring models for money in order to be cast in the popular TV series.
The scammer pushes the desperate fan to deposit money in her phone and later send a screenshot to affirm that money was deposited.
He becomes the latest famous personality to have his name ridden by fraudsters after gospel singer Size 8 and boys band H_art the band suffered a similar incident a few months ago.
