Kenyan Woman Blames America For Her Brother’s Death

Committing suicide must be the hardest thing to do in life. It takes a bitter and tired soul to take own life. The physiological damage must be huge and only the victims understand. Sad as it is always is, suicidal victims give warnings prior doing it and their lives depends on those around them to act promptly.

But the case was different for Kenya’s fitness girl, one Jane Mukami whose one and only brother committed suicide on the 15th February in the US.

According to Mukami, her brother had cut ofg his family off and was living in complete isolation. The Ex- US military officer however constantly sent suicidal texts message to Mukami and her mom.

Like any concerned family member, Mukami and the mother (both living in Kenya) tried to contact responsible bodies both in the US ans US embassy in Nairobi to take him to a rehab to get him back on track but all they met were hearbreaking excuses from the authorities.

Mukami narrates that , was the  28-year old brother in Kenya, he’d still be alive.

Mukami blames distance and entirely the American government for failing to address Mitu’s physcological problem that lead to his death;

“My heart bleeds with sadness, but I’m more angry than sad. My brother committed suicide a few hours ago…he was 28 years old Ex-US military. I’m angry because ever since we discovered he had possible ptsd/psychological issues we reached out on numerous occasions to the VA, Cobb County police, Cobb County Court system, The Kenyan Embassy in DC, The US Embassy in Nairobi…everyone we possibly could asking for help. We needed their help because Stephen cut the family off the last 12 months and refused to communicate with us…he lived in total isolation. He constantly texted about killing himself, I showed these texts to the police as i begged them to check him into rehab or do anything that would help get him back on track…all I got back was
“Sorry ma’am unless he does something drastic, there is nothing we can do”
“He is an adult we cannot force him”
“Unless he takes himself to get help we cannot be of help”
1 thing i know for sure is that had we found a way of getting back to Kenya, he would still be alive. So now I ask America, Was him committing suicide drastic enough for you? I no longer have a brother, mom Mary Kingatua  and Eddy no longer have a son, and all because laws + the system didn’t ‘allow’ us to step in and help. Rest In Peace Mitu…I’m sorry we failed you,” revealed Mukami on her page.

Mukami is a fitness trainer who uses her Facebook to challenge Kenyans to transform their bodies naturally.
